The first day of the LAN finals in Kiev, Ukraine has come to an end. The day was full of intense games and surprising results from some of the teams. After Team Empire and Moscow Five picked their opponents, the group stage started.

Despite having the advantage to pick up their opponents, Team Empire picked up Natus Vincere hoping to skip them in the final stage of the tournament.Unfortunately for them, Na'Vi managed to win the both games in the first phase of the finals, by wining Virtus.pro and Team Empire in a best of two games. The games were engaging, since there were some new and unseen strategies shown, as well as a large quantity of kills. However, even though Team Empire lost the game versus Natus Vincere , they managed to win Virtus.pro and assure them a free spot in the next phase of the finals.

The second surprise of the tournament was the former mousesports now known as The GD Team B. They managed to surprise all by defeating MeetYourMakers and Skånes Elit . Although the team's union is coming to a close, as they are soon to go their separate ways, they banded together and managed to play some really good and breathtaking games in their favor. With those wins made, they will proceed to the next stage of the final. Unfortunately, Moscow Five will not proceed to the next stage, since they lost all of their games.
