ESWC with $30.000 prize pool for CS:GO

ImageThe organization behind the Electronic Sports World Cup revealed the prize pool for the 2012 edition of the event. The world finals will feature a total of $215,000 with $30,000 being distributed between the male and female Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments.

The total prize purse and its distribution for the 2012 edition of the Electronic Sports World Cup has been just unveiled. The international event will feature a total prize pool of $215,000 distributed between the eight different disciplines. In its first presentation at ESWC, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will have $30,000 that will be distributed between the top three squads in both male and female cups.

ESWC's prize distribution for CS:GO:

Male tournament:
1st. $10,000
2nd. $6,000
3rd. $4,000

Female Tournament:
1st. $5,000
2nd. $3,000
3rd. $2,000

As was previously announced, CS:GO will be played in a side tournament with only ten teams taking part. From that dozen of participant teams, just one is already known, US Dynamic . Four European qualifiers are currently running and the three invited teams were not confirmed yet.

The french organization also announced that the total of the prizes from the 2011 edition has been paid out. Concerning the unpaid prizes of the 2008 ESWC will be paid from the Oxent's 2013 budget.

Statement from Oxent's management:
"On the occasion of this announcement, the company Oxent, ESWC new owner since June 2012, wishes to confirm that all 2011 prizes have been paid. Oxent is also proud to announce that the non-paid prizes of 2008 following the bankruptcy of Games-Services, will be paid to their benificiaries under budget for the year 2013. A formal announcement about this exceptional decision will be made at the opening ceremony of the upcoming edition."
