ImageWith just a week to go before the start of the event, DH Valencia organisers have announced that the Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament was canceled in favour of CS:GO.

The decision came after only three teams signed up for the Counter-Strike tournament, which was set to have a €5,000 prize purse. Portuguese powerhouse k1ck alongside x6tence and DAMNATORUM were the only teams interested in participating at DreamHack Valencia.

The organisers decided today to switch to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in an attempt to gather five more teams, in order for the tournament to take place. Teams willing to join the Spanish event need to first purchase a BYOC pass, after which they need to send an email to with the following info:

Name of the captain
Email of the captain
Email confirming the purchase of the BYOC passes
Name of the team
Nicks of the players

DreamHack Valencia will begin on the 22nd of September and will feature a prize pool of €5,000, half of it will be going to the winning team.
