ImageThe Electronic Sports League has revealed a $5,000 prize pool for its upcoming ESL Major Series tournament which will feature Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Game developer Valve has announced earlier this month that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has replaced Counter-Strike: Source in the ESL Major Series. The tournament will have a $5,000 prize pool: $2,500 for the winning team, $1,500 for the runner-up and $1,000 for the third placed squad.

National qualifiers will be held from the 17th of September until the 7th of October. Due to the game being in closed beta until late August, an EPS season was not played for CS:GO, meaning teams are not ranked by their countries and will have to participate in qualifiers.

The ESL has announced two qualifying rounds which will give a total of 12 slots to the EMS Main Round. The first qualification round is set to take place with 24 slots, while the second one will have only 12.

We will keep you updated with the latest news about the ESL Major Series CS:GO tournament as soon as more details are revealed by the organisation.
