ImageThe Electronic Sports League has announced that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will take the place of CSS in the upcoming season of the ESL Major Series.

Also in the EMS are changes. Counter-Strike: Source has been an ever-present title in the EMS in the last 10 editions of the tournament, but now the ESL has decided to go all in on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and put together a €5,000 competition for the new game.

But there is not just CS:GO in the EMS. The biggest piece of the ESL Major Series €34,000 prize pot will go to World of Tanks, which will boast a €15,000 prize purse while the League of Legends and Crossfire Europe tournaments will also hand out €5,000 in prizes. Other EMS season games include Call of Duty 4, Trackmania and Fifa 13.

Additional information was not published yet. Details on the tournament calendar, the prize distribution and the qualifying system will be released in the next few days.
