ImageToday was announced by the Winfakt's management staff that the organization will stop the support to the Counter-Strike division and will release the four players that composed the squad.

With no doubt this is another sad hit for the Counter-Strike scene. Today, the management team of Winfakt announced the stop on the support to the team that represented the organization on the Counter-Strike 1.6 discipline.

The swedish lineup joined Winfakt after they parted ways with Lemondogs and as best achievement they managed to get a third place at the Swedish Championship held in Stockholm in May. They also took part on the GameGune, but showing a disappointing performace going back home at the end of the group stage.

On the past weeks, the lineup has suffered some changes as SE Björn 'threat' Pers retired, and later SE Emil 'FYRR73' Karlsson leaving to join DK Fnatic . As Pers replacement, Winfakt signed up SE John "wenton" Eriksson, but did not find any replacement to fill the fifth player slot.

Jelle Baudeweyns, WinFakt's CEO stated:
"This has been one of our toughest decisions we ever had to do. After so many years of playing and supporting CounterStrike 1.6 we now decided that it is time to move on. We know CS 1.6 is the reason we were able to enter competitive gaming on a full scale and we owe this game a lot but after the roster problems our team faced and current decline of competitive CounterStrike we had to make a decision. It wasn’t an easy one but sometimes you have to make calls against your heart. We will switch to newer games and will announce a new game and a new team soon. So stay tuned for some huge news and I can guarantee you one thing, we will never forget."

With the closure of WinFakt.CS the released players are:
SE Jim "zneel" Andersson
SE Frej "kHRYSTAL" Sjöström
SE Niklas "niko" Johansson
SE John "wenton" Eriksson

No further information about destiny of the released players is known, but the possibility of seeing them on the growing CS:GO scene should not be discarded. Stay tuned to SK-Gaming as we will provide you info about the ex-Winfakt's players as it comes to light.
