$1.000.000 World Championship announced

ImageActivision and Major League Gaming announced the third Call of Duty World Championship $1.000.000 tourney.

This year it is the time for the third $1.000.000 Call of Duty World Championship tourney. In partnership with Major League Gaming (MLG), Gfinity and ACL Pro the big final of this years Championship will return to Los Angeles from March 28-30. 32 of the best Call of Duty teams from around the globe, representing over 15 countries, are going to compete for this massive $1 million prize pool and the tile of the “World Champion”.

Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO commentating on the upcoming Call of Duty World Championship $1.000.000 tourney:

"Last year's championship came down to the final minute of the final match with everyone holding their breath to see who would win. The skill, passion and energy brought by these teams and the crowd looking on showed just what makes our community the best in the world.

Call of Duty is more than a video game. It's a pastime shared by millions. It's exciting to play and fun to watch, and we can't wait to see what this year's event has in store."


However, before heading to Hollywood, it is everyone's task to complete the online qualification and the following Regional Finals. The two online competitions for the German qualifier will be held on the 19th and 25th January and decide which German teams will be going to the big Regional Final in the center of London. Probably this final will be hosted by Activision's European partner Gfinity from the 28th February till the 2nd March and feature the best four teams of these two online qualification cups. Only the best two teams out of this eight ones who will compete in the Regional Final in London, will have a chance to get this with $400.000 doped title of the "Call of Duty World Champion 2014".
