ImageThe two preliminary groups have been released as well as the match schedule. 112 games between the best teams in the world in only three days. And it's just the beginning.

As the second edition of The International is just two days away, sixteen of the best Dota teams in the world have already arrived in Seattle and prepare for the event of the year. The journey to the $1 million prize is going to be tough and every team, and every single player will give their best in the following week to show the world that they are worthy to be called The International Champions.

The groups and the full schedule for the preliminary stage have been released and they promise to be more than interesting. The two opening games for this year's International are going to be SG Team Zenith vs. CN LGD-Gaming cn in Group A and UA Natus Vincere vs. CN Invictus Gaming in Group B. Opening with a typical Asian clash, the Singaporeans from Zenith will face the Chinese powerhouse LGD. LGD have lost the last time they played Zenith and now will be definitely pumped up to show what they are capable of. In the other game we will probably see Na`Vi's UA Daniil 'Dendi' Ishutin vs iG's CN Feichi 'Ferrari_430' Luo in the solo mid lane - it is going to be nothing less than a perfect Dota textbook example of playing in the middle. Wondering if Invoker gets through the ban phase... ?

The beating heart of the pro-scene - all the Dota pros gathered in one place at the Valve office

The preliminaries will be held at the Valve office, closed for live audience but available live on streams or through the ingame spectator client. The first games start on 26 August at 18:00 CEST (9 AM PDT). On 28 August will be played the last games which will decide the playoffs. There will be played 48 games per day during the first two days and 16 games during Day 3. For further information about the preliminary stage (format, rules, etc.), read our previous article regarding the tournament.
