CS:GO at DreamHack Winter 2012

ImageThe DreamHack Winter 2012 will feature a major 5on5 tournament in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is unstoppable. After the great success of the ESWC NA qualifiers with over 500 teams registering to compete now the DreamHack Winter 2012 will feature the new Counter-Strike title.

In a public announcement, the organizers write some information about the tournament. The first and most important announcement is the size of the prizepot. It is quoted as 300,000 SEK, which converts roughly to just $45,000. They also wrote some things about the procedure. The tournament will feature 16 of the very best Counter-Strike teams in the world where the attending teams will be a mix of invited teams and teams qualified through online and LAN qualifications. Of course teams at location will be able to qualify through an open BYOC-qualifier at DreamHack Winter 2012. The Grand Final of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament will be featured on DreamHack's trademark stage, the DreamArena, with full HD streaming through
