Today, the second quarter final of the Azubu Champions Summer 2012 kicked off. If you missed out on the rare match up of a Chinese team battling it out versus a European team don't worry - we got you covered.

EU CLG.eu vs CN World Elite

Game 1

Bans: CLG.eu: Twisted Fate, Nocturne, Shen - WE: Alistar, Maokai, Malphite

Picks CLG.eu: Rumble, Urgot, Leona, Anivia, Nautilus

Picks World Elite: Corki, Skarner, Yorick, Taric, Ryze

The first game started off with World Elite invading CLG.eu's jungle. They managed to steal away their blue buff and also picked up the blue buff on their own side of the jungle. Which gave a nice advantage to both Skarner and especially to Yorick, who was laning 2v1 bot.

Due to some technical issues the OGN stream had to be taken offline around 6.55, so it's not clear how first blood was drawn. Once the stream got back up, the score was 0:2 in favor of WE. After two equal teamfights that ended in a 3 for 1 exchange first in CLG's and then in WE's favor, the Chinese team got caught in CLG.eu's jungle when they were picking up their enemy's blue bluff. CLG didn't waste time and initiated instantly. Their quick reaction got rewarded with an ace.

When picking up dragon uncontested, World Elite showed some very nice gameplay. Thanks to their ward coverage the Chinese team knew that CLG.eu were on the way to dragon. WE positioned to the very side in the baron pit, so they could not be spotted from the outside due to the Fog of War. Even though their plan worked and CLG.eu didn't notice their presence, the damage of the European team was superior and WE ended up losing 4 players.

In the mid-game, CLG.eu managed to score another ace after a teamfight on botlane. Just a bit later, they headed to baron and picked up the popular buff uncontested. The European team knew exactly what to do next and started to pressure WE's mid, taking down their Inhibitor Turret with 2 minion waves.

They continued to attack the Inhibitor until Urgot initiated a fight by switching Ryze into the middle of his teammates. CLG.eu took down two more players of WE before they finally broke the Inhibitor and moved forward to destroy the last 2 towers and the Nexus. One of the players of WE was overwhelmed by this result and quit the game before the Nexus blew up.

Winner: CLG.eu!

Game 2

Bans: World Elite: Anivia, Malphite, Alistar - CLG.eu: Rumble, Shen, Twisted Fate

Picks World Elite: Nocturne, Olaf, Nunu, Karthus, Vayne

Picks CLG.eu: Maokai, Urgot, Soraka, Renekton, Ahri

Game two began with both teams heading to the opposite jungle once again. CLG.eu placed a ward in the brush next to World Elite's Wraiths to keep track of their jungler while WE stormed CLG.eu's jungle and successfully picked up golems and their enemy's red buff which was given to Vayne. Renekton was bound to have quite an annoying laning phase considering he had to face a redbuff Vayne and Nunu top.

Both teams played it very passive and safe for a long time, focusing on farming and pushing rather than killing, even though there's been first blood potential on all of the three lanes. When CLG.eu were pushing mid two fights broke out, one of them located in the jungle, the other one mid. First blood was drawn by Renekton who killed Karthus, followed by WE picking up a kill as well.

After the game had to be paused for a bit because Snoopeh seemed to have technical issues, both teams went back to playing it very safe, focusing on farming and pushing their lanes. CLG.eu kept pressuring WE's mid and managed to push all the way to the base, where they broke down the enemy's Inhibitor turret.

Wanting to destroy the Inhibitor next CLG.eu head to baron. WE didn't want them to grab the buff that easily and initiated on them while they are fighting in the pit. Nevertheless CLG.eu grabbed the buff and fought their enemy. WE managed to take the wanted buff away from 3 of CLG.eu's members by killing them, but they paid the price by losing 4 players on their own side.

When all of CLG.eu respawned, the team was ready for the final push. They rushed into the enemy's base, finishing off their shiny Inhibitor and jumped on WE. The Chinese team lost one player and backed off instinctively. CLG.eu moved on to the core of their base, attacking and destroying both Nexus towers. The European team picked up two more kills before finally destroying the Nexus and winning the second game.

Winner: CLG.eu!
