ImageSK’s own Jang ‘MC’ Min Chul will take on competition from all around the world at Assembly 2012. He will battle it out for his share of the $30,000 prize pool, verse players from all around the world. Read on for updates regarding MC’s Day 1 progress!

When the groups were announced prior to the event, it was clear MC wasn’t in for an easy tournament. His group featured two of the top Protoss players in Europe DK Jon 'BabyKnight' Andersen and RU Oleg 'TitaN' Kuptsov. He would also be up against the on fire Zerg player RU Andrey 'LiveZerg' Guldiashov.

Coming off a devastating loss in the GSL finals, KR Min Chul 'MC' Jang had something to prove to himself today. MC would open up group 5 against none other than BabyKnight.

At the end of day 1, Group 5 finished with MC and Titan progressing to the second group stage, with MC in first place. Unfortunately for LiveZerg and BabyKnight their tournament is over.

Group stage 2 will feature a higher level of competition for MC. He has been drawn into Group A:

Group Stage 2 - Group A
KR Min Chul 'MC' Jang
KR Song Hyun 'HerO' Deok
US Conan 'Suppy' Liu
FI Santeri 'Naama' Lahtinen

This will be an extremely tough group for MC. All of these players are a threat to him but MC remains the player to beat in this group. If anyone can progress from this group it'll be MC and you'll have full coverage of the games tomorrow here on SK-Gaming.com!

Day 2 kicks off at 13:00 CET. Be sure to tune into the live streams and check the website for updates regarding KR Min Chul 'MC' Jang!
