Riot implements AFK prevention system

ImageLeague of Legends has had the problem of players being 'AFK' during champion select and being assigned a random champion, but Riot is aiming to fix this.

Riot was having a problem that stemmed from the almost obnoxiously long queue times for some game types. High level players would sometimes be forced to wait 20-30 minutes just to find a game. This resulted in some people AFKing from their computer, since they knew they wouldn't be needed for another game for a little while. This attitude has trickled down in to the community, much to the distress of other players.

Riot has created a "Ready check" feature that will aid in solving this problem. It will replace the "Play now/ Finish what I was doing" prompt with a pop-up asking if you would like to accept or decline the game. Unless all players hit accept, the game will not start. Not choosing an option is identical to hitting decline, and doing so gets you immediately dropped out of the queue.
