ImageOne of the biggest names in foreign StarCraft II has today been released from his contract with Quantic Gaming. The Swedish powerhouse will now be on the search for a new team! More details inside.

The Swedish Protoss Johan 'NaNiwa' Lucchesi earlier today asked to be released from his contract with Quantic Gaming.

Johan 'NaNiwa' Lucchesi has been known for having a poor relationship with fellow players and teams throughout his StarCraft career. Sporting a rather hefty list of former teams, Naniwa has never really found his "home" within the professional StarCraft scene and on multiple occasions had outbursts of anger towards fellow players and tournament organisers.

Despite the circumstances he's known as one of the best foreign players in the world right now. More recently placing top 4 in the 2012 GSL Season 3, which is one step further than season 2 which he placed top 8. However last night we watched Naniwa take a first round exit from the TSL 4 a tournament he placed 2nd in last time around.

Official Statement from Quantic Gaming
"Johan Lucchesi asked to be released from his contract today. Quantic has granted this request effective immediately. While we believe that Johan has thrived in his relationship with our family, we do not believe in holding players who no longer wish to be with us. We are grateful for the time he has spent with us and we are proud of the growth he has shown as a player and as a member of this community."

The question is: What's next for Naniwa? Where will he go now?
