ImageIPL announced a new tournament structure which will act as a substitute for the qualifiers for their future events after IPL 5.

IPL has shown countless times in the last few months how invested they are in the League of Legends eSports scene and today we get another evidence of that. Their newest creation is a tournament system called the IPL Elites and the IPL Challengers. There will be separate North American and European tournaments and each cycle will last around 3 weeks.

IPL Elites
- 16 teams
- Single Elimination
- Best of 3 matches with Best of 5 Finals
- Top 8 teams remain in IPL Elites for the next cycle
- Bottom 8 teams are moved down to the IPL Challengers

$3000 prize pool will be divided as following:
1st – $2000
2nd – $700
3rd – $300

IPL Challengers
- 32 teams
- Single elimination
- 8 teams comming from the Еlites
- 24 teams from signups
- Teams will be given preference based on IPL Power Ranking
- Top 8 teams are seeded into the next IPL Elites bracket
- Bottom 16 teams skip one cycle of the IPL Challengers

The IPL Power Rankings will be greatly affected by these tournament circuits and teams will be invited for the IPL events after IPL 5 based on them, leaving qualifiers out of the picture.
