The Asia E-sports Challenge Malaysian qualifier came to an end with Hybrid on top. The champions made their way to the the final easily while the runner up, Karnal, had to take down Lucky5 in a close match to fight for the championship title. In the upper bracket final match, team Hybrid defeated Tomi 'lurppis' Kovanen's Karnal without much effort on de_dust2 with a final score of 16-8.

After the lower bracket was completed, Lucky5 fell short again versus Karnal on de_train, but Kovanen's squad didn't show strong enough gameplay to overcome Hybrid in the grand final, losing 5-16.

Final standings for AEC 2012 Malaysia


With the title, Hybrid is qualified for the Asia E-Sports Cup 2012 that will be held between September 20-23 in the Japanese capital city, Tokyo. Hybrid will be fighting for the title against the winners of the Singaporean, Indonesian and Indian qualifiers that are not finished yet.
