F2P and it looks a lot better than cs:go ...
and f#ck you cs:go i hope you fail like cs source did
Back CS 1.6 ! I play 8 years for nothing ..
As for removing 1.6, I can shed some light from ESWC 2010. At that event, there was SK.CS, SK.CS-fe, SK.Quake, SK.Racing, as well as TheSlaSH, Merusame, reis and myself. We all had different interests in the competitions being shown then, but what I can say is that all of us had a mutual interest in 1.6, as it's been a cornerstone of esports for over a decade and you don't have to be a hardcore fan to appreciate it. Therefore, I can say that removing 1.6 and replacing it with GO is not a wise decision, as it's not the same as replacing DotA with Dota 2; they are different games with different priorities and mechanics. I just feel like ESWC is losing a big part of their tournament with this.

I crying
Don't get me wrong, I love 1.6 and CS in general, but we're in 2012 now. I've played cs since beta 5.2, and I can honestly say that me and my teammates love what they've done with GO so far. A little more tweaking, and it'll be a great tournament game, for sure.
We play extensively almost every day and got our own server etc, so I feel that I can comment on the game's state a little more accurately than those of you who haven't even tried it yet, and still scream "CS 1.6 FOR LIFE CSGO SUXXX !!11oneone!!"
It's already competition-ready and as with any other game, you have to play it for a little while and test it extensively before you can write it off as total garbage. Now, it was the same with the transition from 1.5 to 1.6 (For the small amount of you who were actually there to witness it, and didn't start playing CS during it's 1.6 stint.)
But after a short amount of time, people accepted it and adapted to it. This is the same thing happening again, and it's just natural progress. We can't be stuck in the game that came out in 2003. It's just silly.
In essence ; If it's a matter of pride or principles, get real. Try the game for a few weeks, LEARN it since it's a new game and not a 1.6 clone, and THEN make your opinion on it. If you hate it, cool. Stick with a dying 1.6. If you love it, well, you know where to find me =)
-Out
This is so fucking wrong,i cant believe that idiots removed 1.6 from their list.
Well this is embarrassing for every single 1.6 cs player.
I remember cs_oldschool and when the prison was a great map. I remember every patch that made me think "Ah, shit, they've changed / fixed . " and every little bump in the road.
If you wanna be stuck in 2003, go ahead. But don't expect the sponsors and the developers to sit idly by. Don't expect any developer to never create something new just because they made a hit in god knows when !
