On the 18th of May 2012 Solomid.net announced their first NA Invitational Tournament. They had already gotten the ball rolling on the EU scene and they wanted to also get it up and running for NA. Solomid plans on investing over $100,000 in tournament cash and prizes through the end of the year.

Many of the top NA teams were invited as well as a few underdog teams who have shown that they have what it takes to play at professional level and have surprised us all, including teams such as Orbit Gaming and Dynamic who recently placed 7th and 4th at MLG Anaheim earlier this year.

Highlights

Orbit Gaming, despite being DDoSed, steam rolled through the first few rounds and beat Team SoloMid with a hands down 2-0 victory, showing the team's potential in future events.

Curse.NA beat TSM.Evo knocking them into the losers' bracket where they forfeited against Team Legion. Curse.NA then faced mTw.Na and were dropped to the losers' bracket as well. Curse were knocked out of the tournament by Team Dynamic.

After being put into the losers' bracket by Orbit Gaming, TSM achieved victory against Team Legion with 2-0 score and then again against Team Dynamic however the youngsters played very well. At some points during the last game it was unclear who was ahead even at the 30 minute mark.

mTw.NA made it to the Semi-Finals, where they faced Orbit Gaming. mTw.NA lost that match but recovered after beating TSM without a single game in TSM's favour. So now mTw.Na faced Orbit Gaming in the finals.

Both these teams showed great gameplay and techniques but Orbit gaming came out on top due to their fantastic team work.

Orbit Gaming have been a team for 2 months now and they have been underestimated quite a bit but now they are showing the other teams that they should be feared. Recently they all quit their jobs to be able to take League of Legends as their profession and to show their fans how serious they are with competing. This will allow them to have more time to train and to play at higher levels.
