ImageBen Bowe is a fresh and up coming console commentator, recognised for marshalling MW3 matches into exciting and dynamic media spectacles. Today we tell his story.

Up until about March of this year, Ben 'Benson' Bowe was a stranger to competitive Call of Duty, aside from the odd youtube watch or reading occasional articles, he simply enjoyed the lighter side of gaming and broadcatsed his experiences online va Youtube. Now, after being scouted by the likes of Network eSports to operate their media content, Ben has a hit a new high in the community as a popular competitive shoutcaster and media personality.

Ben was showing early signs of media interest and started his youtube channel during the black ops title of the call of duty series, which he marketed through a community based global gaming team known as pSycho gaming. Its from this interest, coupled with his enthusiastic and energetic approach to insightful gaming videos theat Ben was gaining some popularity amoung casual call of duty players, reaching some 3000 subscribers. His growing reach in the community was the reason that he was eventually noticed and scouted by network esports to feature as a media manager and commentator for the professional MW3 team that was currently playing under the organisation.

The community described the currently European commentry team as over headed and under exectuted and it was from this that Ben was given the oppertunity to give a much needed Zest to the scene. Despite his enthusiastic and energetic casting, Ben has recieved some critism for being over indulgent and indescript, however continues to make a massive impact on our MW3 gaming media and who knows? Perhaps we will see him sharing the mic at some larger events in the future.

The move from casual to professional shoutcasting was enough to secure Ben a very quick claim to fame, with commentry positions under Competituve Central and Vanity Online. These appearances, strung together by hundreds of guest and special appearances in many competitive gameplays accross the scene, offered Ben the oppertunity to commentate on the 6th Installment of largest MW3 tournament series in Europe, EGL.

This is what Ben had to say about the last 4-6 weeks of his casting career:

"I first started off as "one of those guys" who uploaded his own public gameplays onto his YouTube and talked about how cat wasnt feeling well....literally! But i soon found i had a talent at commentating as i could just keep going talking about the most random of things! I then organised a tournament where i was going to commentate and i absolutely loved it, it was so refreshing to do what i love but in a whole new aspect! I could be enthusiastic and really get into the gameplay and enjoy the viewers LIVE. To me this completely outweighed the normal commentating i was used to. Luckily i then got picked up bt network-esports who were a dominant org at the time and they made me there commentator. It really gave me a platform to perform over a great players and helped me learn about the competitive scene. Luckily one thing led to another and next thing you know there i am commentaitng at EGL6! So far, best experience of my commentating career. It was hard work as only myself and Bricey were commentating the event, so my voice felt the pain afterwards! But it was an opportunity i was lucky to get, and hopefully i did everyone proud that provided me with the opportunity!
If you want to follow me on my journey in the future follow me @LiNK_Benson Thanks!"

Ben will continue casting the scene and hopes to feauture at some LAN events in the future. He is currently under the LiNK gaming management with a marketing role.
