The event organization of e-Stars Seoul will not be supporting Counter-Strike 1.6 during their event in 2012. The tournament will take place on 27-29 July. For several years, the e-Stars Seoul and the GameGune tournament have been taken place at the exact same date. This year, both events will take on 27-29 July, but one important factor changed. E-Stars Seoul will not be supporting Counter-Strike 1.6 any longer.
The main reason of the Korean event to discontinue Counter-Strike 1.6 was the decision of going for titles such as Tekken TT2 and League of Legends.
With the decision of quitting Counter-Strike, eStars Seoul follows the steps of other big tournaments like WCG and IEM that also switched to other game titles and decided to give more support to the console video games.
During the last years, all eyes were on the e-Stars tournament, but this year the CS 1.6 followers will only have to attend the GameGune.
