After IEM, World Cyber Games, as one of the biggest LAN events in the world, will maybe drop Counter-Strike 1.6 as well.Rumours have been made on rakaka.se that WCG are not going to feature CS 1.6 in 2012. World Cyber Games itself has neither confirmed the rumours nor did they deny them. According to WCGs website they are still featuring Counter-Strike 1.6 due to the next event which will be held in Kunshan, China.
As we announced earlier today IEM are not going to feature CS 1.6 anymore, because of the negative global popularity of the game. If World Cyber Games drops Counter-Strike 1.6 as well, they would be the second major event who stopped the support of CS 1.6 in the future.
What do you think about WCG dropping CS 1.6? Do you think this rumour will be proven wrong? Leave your comments below.

I mean, look at other SPORTS (and YES, Counter-Strike is a sport, if there is a medal, a cup and a reward to win as 1st ranked):
-Football
-Volleyball
-Paintball
-Archery
God knows how many sports I could keep rambling up.
Counter Strike 1.6 is DEFINITELY the best FPS EVER. Case closed.
But how do they expect the new generations to become good at any game when they are competing for sales and dropping CS 1.6 just so that they could sell some more copies of CS:GO (which is total bs, by the way)?
Pathetic play, everyone.
Really pathetic play by developers and corporations.
In order for something to become big, and let people push it over its own limits, everything needs TIME.
I say "Give cs 1.6 10 more years. Give people the chance to understand that it's about to become the greatest online sport activity ever. Give people the chance to become even better then SK, Na'Vi or fnatic. Give people the chance to take it even FURTHER! Don't let the sales be a problem with CS 1.6! Raise the price on Steam to 30 dollars if that's gonna satisfy Your wallets! But let it develop into a sport instead of a rusty old game! Make CS:GO the object of your sales - but leave 1.6 to the people who want to COMPETE!"
But then again, who DOES read this? The Valve C.E.O.? Hah! Let's not get too carried away.
These words will be imprinted in Your screens and get to disappear just like an ant in a storm.
And players from big teams will simply accept those conditions. They will start playing CS:GO or Source, or whatever it is they are made to play, instead of revolting!
And that's the end of an era called Counter Strike 1.6.
YOU WILL LOSE FANS, PLAYERS, TOURNAMENTS!!!!!! HOW CAN YOU REPLACE nr1 FPS game in the whole WORLD!!!! go will never be so popular as 1.6! you have to agree! nobody gonna buy that shit game!
