The first season of the Star Series was the response of the CIS community to the Western leagues and tournaments. It was largely successful as the four top-placed teams attended a LAN playoff held in Kiev, fighting for a chunk of the $15, 000 prize pool.

Only two weeks after the end of the first season, the organizers have announced Season 2. It will feature 16 top teams - 12 of them were invited, and the other 4 have played qualifiers to decide whether they will relegate to the Pro Series or qualify for the Star Series. The first games will be played on May 16th and the last round is expected to end on July 31st.

The top 4 teams at the end of the league, just like in Season 1, will be invited to a LAN playoff in Kiev to fight each other for the first place.

With the start of the Star Series, the lower divisions - the Pro Series and the Amateur Series will take off, too. The Pro Series will feature 32 participating teams as the top 4 placed will have the chance to qualify for the Star Series' next season.
