After weeks of matches, the Iron Squid finals are upon us. As the dust settles on the Quarter Finals, only 4 Koreans remain to contest for the crown and $25,000 at the live event in Paris. The tournament began back in March with 8 foreign and 12 Korean players split into 4 groups, with 2 foreign and 3 Koreans per group. Unexpectedly none of the foreign players managed to get into the top 2, thus we had an all Korean Quarter Finals.
Even then the upsets were not over as in-form fan favourite
Jung-Hoon 'MarineKing' Lee fell to GSL B-leaguer
Dong Hyun 'Symbol' Kang 3-0.
The four players fighting for the crown are:
Dong Hyun 'Symbol' Kang
Jae-Duck 'NesTea' Lim
Lee-Seok 'aLive' Han
Seong Won 'MMA' Mun
Both of the Semi Finals will be mirror matchups, TvT with aLive vs MMA and ZvZ with NesTea and Symbol. This racial distribution differs greatly from the current season of GSL Code S, where the final 8 consisted of 5 Protoss and 3 Terran with 0 Zerg.
Prize Distribution
1st $12,500
2nd $6,250
3rd $3,750
4th $2,500
