DongRaeGu wins MLG Spring Arena #1
DongRaeGu got his revenge on MarineKing, winning the MLG Spring Arena 1 final 4:3 to take home $5,000 and first place.
Soo Ho 'DongRaeGu' Park finally has his revenge. MYM.MVP's DongRaeGu advanced last night to his third MLG final in a row only to meet his biggest rival
Jung-Hoon 'MarineKing' Lee yet another time. The back-and-forth series ended with a win for the zerg and with $5,000 in his pocket.
After finishing 6th in the round robin stage and taking literally the last possible playoffs seed, DongRaeGu had to make his way through the whole bracket, defeating MC (3-1) and Ganzi (3-0) to face MarineKingPrime in what is now an MLG tradition. Their rivalry began at MLG Winter Arena and continued onto the Winter Championship with MKP winning both times. Although he started the Spring Arena grand final with a win, Marineking could not see his MLG hat-trick completed.
The top 4 players will qualify and get an all-expenses paid trip to New York City to participate in the 2012 MLG Spring Arena 2. They will also be seeded into pool play and receive an all-expenses paid trip to the 2012 MLG Spring Championship in Anaheim.
The bottom 4 players will drop to the Invite-Only Online Qualifiers.
This system also picked up at Dreamhack this year will see 2012 have more Starcraft II events then ever before with all of them leading to the main Championship. We here at SK will keep you fully updated on the next MLG event, Spring Arena #2 which will be May 18-20.
