ImageAs time passed by, we'll take another look at the peak of the EuWest Solo-queue ladder. If you'd like to know which champions are flavor of the month at the moment, read on and enjoy.

Another week, another Elo-ladder coverage. Since the EuWest ladder got aroused quite a bit, we'll cover the top 5 of the EuWest ladder this week.

Rank 1: DE Kerp
Misc. Information:
Actual Elo: ~2610
Summoner Name: Kerp
Team: EU Luna
Role on team: AP Carry

In two weeks the highest elo on EuWest has been raised to 2610. A remarkable increase for sure. But not only the highest elo has been changed, no. We also have a new rank 1 summoner. If you watch pro-streams, you might have seen him already. Kerp is basically an allrounder in terms of roles, but his favorites are either one of the top lanes or jungle. Even though he likes some lanes more than other, he still plays what is needed. And he plays every role at a top level for sure.

Most played champion: Gangplank Image

Gangplank has been a very strong top-lane champion. In fact, he was so strong, that Riot decided to nerf him. Sadly, the nerf was a bit too much. Prior to the nerf, laning against a Gangplank was quite hard. Parrley harass in addition to a strong passive for trading made him a rather dreaded enemy. Even though he still is viable, other champions just outshine him.

Second most played champion: Shaco/Irelia

As we already had Shaco last week, we'll take a closer look at Irelia. She has been nerfed quite some times. Nevertheless she is still an decent pick and a unique champion with an amazing skill-set. The latest nerf (-50% heal from her W) hurt her pretty much and, as always, people want the old Irelia back. Riot basically crippled her early game a bit, because she was strong throughout the whole game. That being said, Irelia is still a monster in team fights, especially late-game. It just takes some time to get used to the nerf and she certainly will be a common top pick once again.

Best champion: Brand (94% win rate; 17 games played)

Brand is a situational AP carry, with a high amount of burst but no mobility. In my opinion, his skill-set is the showpiece of what an AP caster should look like. The burning man's strength is definitely his splash damage in a team-fight. However, his downside is his vulnerability to ganks. He is, similar to Gangplank, a viable champion, which sadly just gets outshined by other champions.

Rank 2: DE Carl 'ForellenLord' Lückmann
Misc. Information:
Actual Elo: ~2610
Summoner Name: ALTERNATE F Lord
Team: DE Team ALTERNATE
Role on team: AP Carry

Most played champions: Ezreal; Twisted Fate

Nothing has really changed about those two champions since the last time we've covered F Lord's champions two weeks ago in my first elo ladder coverage.Image

Best Champion: Kennen (84% win rate; 17 games played)

AP Kennen never was an underpicked champion, however is very popular at the moment. With the blue buff nerf Kennen got even more popular, as he has infinite resources. As he is a champion with a strong AOE utility + damage ultimate, you are able to turn the tides in a team fight and therefore carry the team, which is often needed in solo-queue. However, he is also often picked in the competitive scene lately. All in all a unique, balanced and awesome ninja yordle!

Rank 3: DE Minh Sang 'WhO-yOh' Ngo Tan
Misc. Information:
Actual Elo: ~2590
Summoner Name: mTw WhOyOu
Team: DE mTw
Role on team: AP Carry

Most played champions: Ryze; Anivia

Due to the fact, that he plays usual AP carries, we'll jump straight to his top champions.

Best champions: Kassadin (87% win rate; 39 games played); Karthus (84% win rate; 45 games played)Image

Both, Kassadin and Karthus, are monsters in the right hands. Kassadin is a champion, which gets banned quite often. He is very strong indeed, however he can get counterpicked easily and destroyed in lane. Despite all those weaknesses, WhOyOu managed to hold an impressing 87% winrate.
Karthus is considered a saver pick in terms of counterpicking. Even if Karthus struggles against a lot of champion in lane, he can easily get fed by farming safely and getting assists or securing kills with his strong ultimate. Another strength of Karthus is his ability to deal tons of damage to dragon / baron with his Q. On top of those things, he is very strong in team fights.

Rank 4: US Marcus 'Dyrus' Hill
Misc. Information:
Actual Elo: ~2570
Summoner Name: WORST TOP NA
Team: US Team SoloMid
Role on team: Solo Top

During the last weeks Dyrus struggled quite a bit and lost some elo. Team Solomid attended to IPL4 (which they won), which is why he did not not have as much time as the other players. However, he still was able to catch up and fling himself into the top 5 once again. Image

Most played champions: Vladimir; Kennen

If you send an AP top, it will most likely be either Vladimir or Kennen. Especially Vladimir is very deadly in Dyrus' hands, as he demonstrated in IPL4 with some outstanding performances on Vladimir. The confidence, that Dyrus showed on Vladimir, surely is something you don't see everyday.

Best champion: Singed (86% win rate; 28 games played)

The champion Dyrus is known for. Dyrus climbed the ladder with jungle Singed and he stated on Stream that he does not like Singed on top lane as much as he used to. Sadly, jungle Singed isn't that good anymore either, due to the spellvamp nerf. Most people don't even consider Singed as a viable pick. However, Dyrus has shown us the power of a perfectly played Singed in IPL4 (after the laning phase, in which he struggled and ended up feeding), where he carried his team in team fights with well timed flings and terrorized the enemy team with his Mega Adhesive (slow) and his poison trail. The ability to dish out good aoe damage with the poison trail (which gets underestimated every single time I play him) is just an extra, to his strong utility.

Rank 5: DE CPLAY Tt Arthana
Misc. Information:
Actual Elo: ~2570
Summoner Name: CPLAY Tt Arthana
Team: DE Derpers
Role: AD Carry

Most played shampions: Graves; Tristana

Graves and Tristana are two AD carries, which we've already covered. However, it is always good to mention that Graves is a beast on lane due to his burst. In team fights he is not only able to deal good damage, his W is also a strong game-changing spell. Tristana on the other hand shines with her mobility, range and damage. She has a very good auto-attack range on level 18 which is simply destroying with her attack-speed buff (Q).

Best champion: Ashe (75% win rate; 40 games played)

Ashe has been forgotten for quite some time, because the damage of the other AD carries was just way higher than Ashe's damage. Even though this has not really changed, a little base stats buff brought her back to life. In spite of the fact, that she needs 3 items to really start to shine damage-wise, her utility makes her special and viable. The perma slow is very strong in team fights, so is her ultimate (Enchanted Crystal Arrow) as an engage. Another negative point for solo-queue: Her ultimate needs either good communication or very good team mates that react. As you can't always have perfect team members, you'll need communication in most cases, which is why she is better in arranged 5v5. That being said his 75% win rate is even more remarkable.

I hope you enjoyed reading it and stay tuned for another episode!
