ImageThe Asian Dota 2 community is taken by storm with the announcement of another large Dota 2 tournament.

After the first season of joinDOTA masters, Asian Dota 2 fans are craving for more actions from their favourite local teams. And the first Asian Dota 2 tournament has been announced by Gigabyte, in the name of Gigabyte Dota Masters. There are a total of 24 entries to be filled up for the tournament, including 22 invited teams and the other 2 to be decided via an open qualifier. The whole tournament is scheduled to last for 3 days, on 25th, 26th and 26th April. Although there is no geographical limitation on the participants, all the games will be played in Asian servers, thus making the tournament a presumably all-Asian clash.

24 teams will be divided into four groups playing in a round-robin format, followed by a double elimination format for the next stage. Unfortunate occupants of the last two bottom spots are to be eliminated; while the top two teams in each group enter the winner bracket. Third and fourth placers in each group will start the elimination round in the loser bracket. The draw of the groups will be broadcasted live on 22nd April. The prize pool for the tournament has been announced as $5000 in total.

Every match of the tournament will be streamed and casted by GosuGamers head shoucaster AU David ‘GoDz’ Parker.

The full list of invited teams and their roster as well as the official trailer for the tournament can be found at the GIGABYTE Dota Masters homepage.

Among the participants, the most noticeable would be the surprising return of Chinese legendary powerhouse CN EHOME with an anonymous roster. Many lesser known names in the region managed to pick up the invitation as well, namely PH Duskbin, PH Dreamz Ledion, MM Genuineness of Geeks and NZ GiGa who are all determined to prove themselves as worthy darkhorses.
