ESV announced that they will reintroduce the Korean Weekly to the scene again. In season 3 there will be an increase of the prize pool to a total of $5,100. After GSL the ESV Korean Weekly has been the tournament that has brought so many good games to the Korean scene of Starcraft II. The big Grand Prix has been changed and have now a total price pool of $3,500. There will be a total of eight weeks of competition, then leading in to the big Grand Prix #3.

The qualifiers to the Grand prix will this year be by a point based system. Players will gain points by their performance and players that play well consistently will be rewarded for their effort. Two players Hyun-Woo 'Squirtle' Park, winner of The Korean Weekly Finals #3, and Young Seo 'TaeJa' Yoon, the winner of ESVTV/Twitch TV Grand Prix #1, will be directly invited to the Grand Prix for their efforts in previous tournaments.
