Are you interested in the Elo ladder and do you want to know which champions are flavour of the month? Then you should read on and enjoy!Welcome to SK's very first episode of 'Elo Ladder Coverage'!
We will take a look at the peak of Riot's official Solo-Queue ladder and discuss the top players picks and roles.
Furthermore, we will specifically cover champion picks after patches or hotfixes with buffs / nerfs.
Today, we will start with the Eu West Ladder:
Rank 1:
Oliver 'Hawkdon' Scholz Lønning
Misc. Information:
Hawkdon's most played role unquestionable is the one he plays professionally. With an impressive Win Ratio of 80%, Morgana can definitely be declared as one of Hawkdons favourite picks.
Even though Hawkdon's top champions are mostly AP Carries, his second best champion is Lee Sin. This fact may show Lee Sins strength in the jungle and that he is a unique champion, who is just fun to play. Due to his strong early, the possibilities to gank and his decent jungle speed, he is still one of the strongest champions.
His second best AP Carry (overall 3rd best champion) is Kennen, which started to gain a lot of population in the last weeks. Not far away from Morgana's 80%, Kennen's 75% Win Ratio proves that you should fear Hawkdon, when he is playing the little lightning yordle.
Rank 2:
Carl 'ForellenLord' Lückmann
Misc. Information:
Similar to the actual first Rank, F Lord plays the AP Carry role professionally. Although this shows off in his most played champions this season, there is one big exception, which surprisingly is his most played champion: Ezreal.

His second best champion is Twisted Fate. TF surely is a very strong Solo-Queue champion, due to his strong ultimate, which is almost a safe kill. However, it also takes time to master him.
The third, and in my opinion most interesting, champion is Orianna. With a solid 65% Win Ratio on the robotic AP Lady, Forellenlord is proving that she is quite viable, and as she is one of those champions, who are just fun to play. You might consider trying her again!
Rank 3:
Marcus 'Dyrus' Hill
Misc. Information:
Dyrus climbing the ladder is more or less a phenomenon. I am obviously not referring to his skill, no. I am talking about the delay he is playing with. Being able to climb the ladder with such a handicap is remarkable. That being said, his place in the top 3 is well deserved. Let's check his champions!
His most played champion is Vladimir, a pretty common pick. Vladimir is mostly picked in addition to another champion, who need to buy 'Will of the Ancients', because the aura 'stacks'.
As his other champions are usual top champions, I want to take a look at a champion, which recently got buffed: Olaf. If you have watched Dyrus' stream lately, you might have seen him playing Olaf quite a lot. After the last patch, Olaf found his place as a common pick for top lane, due to his true damage and lifesteal. If you have not played against a Olaf yet, do NOT underestimate him. He is a very strong champion throughout the whole game.

The third and last champion that we'll take a look at is (you knew it was coming!): Singed. Running around, slowing and killing people, while spamming the laugh emote – that's what Dyrus actually stands for. Even though Singed is a underplayed champion nowadays, he is Dyrus 4th place, in terms of most played champions. However, there is something way more impressive about it: He has a Win Ratio of 85% with Singed, which is more or less incredible.
Next week we'll move on to the North American ladder. Stay tuned!

I played Shen jungle against his AD Fizz jungle and I was fucked up the ass every step I took in that game. Every blue/red in my own jungle was contested. He was everywhere, had vision everywhere, knew all my moves and carried his lanes with his perfect map control.
I really started to realize what the difference actually is between me (toprating 1460) and a pro player, and the difference is so much more than what you think when you watch a stream... :P
(And yes, I do know that I am the one that threw the game, but I think that any other lane would've been the 'throw' if he had laned there...)
Before the match between TSM and aaa Dyrus told them how to rise in elo.
"Play heroes that are not funny as Vladimir or Ryze" ;)
