WEM drop CS, head for LoL & SC2

By Natasha 'tashaa' L
Mar 28, 2012 16:02 has apparently learned from WEM staff that the event will drop CS 1.6 and Warcraft III in favour of supporting LoL and Starcraft II.

In another blow to Counter-Strike 1.6, World e-Sport Masters staff have apparently told that the game will be taken off the tournaments ranks in order to make way for the ever rising League of Legends and StarCraft II. The move follows World Cyber Games who also decided to take CS 1.6 off their list recently.

KR WeMade FOX were the last team to take the World e-Sports Masters title in 2010 after downing SE SK Gaming 2-1 in the final to take the $22,000 prize for first place. In 2011, WEM announced that the tournament was postponed until 2012.

No official statement has been made yet however although it's expected to come in the upcoming week.
