mousesports part ways with CS 1.6
After having won 13 EPS titles as well as the 2008 IEM World Championship, German organisation mousesports will say farewell to their CS 1.6 squad.
mousesports have decided to close their CS 1.6 division which was announced in a fittingly named newspost called “The end of an era”. The reasoning behind the unexpected decision is said to be due to Counter-Strike 1.6 increasingly becoming weakened at major events in comparison to newer titles such as League of Legends and Dota 2.
The throne for the 14th EPS title may still be in site for the team, as the organisation announced they will continue to participate under the
mousesports tag. There will be a change in the roster although, seeing the most recent Danish addition
Danny 'zonic' Sørensen become casted out as his contract ends with
Thanh Vinh 'ninja' Bui joining the team once again as their new fifth. Even though the team will continue to follow through the EPS season which they are currently ranked third in, the organisation stressed that they will not be competing at this year’s Copenhagen Games in which they were invited to.
mousesports will finish the EPS season for the last time as:
Fatih 'gob b' Dayik
Finn 'karrigan' Andersen
Roman 'roman' Ausserdorfer
Thanh Vinh 'ninja' Bui
Michele 'zonixx' Köhler
Many achievements have been accomplished over the year by the Germans, with 13 EPS titles being under their belt along with the crowning of World Championships at IEM in 2008. The team also managed to take gold at GameGune 2009, IEM4 European Championship and a second place at IEM 6 GC Guangzhou.

Fuck me harder...
good luck 4 gob & the others btw (y)
The team couldn't prove that they can compete in the Top 5 internationally and right now all the big money is on international events.
I am sure Django will find a way to spend that new ressources on something else and we'll see a few more years of Mouz coming. Probably with a focus on MOBA, who knows.
You can't deny that CS is getting less and less attention and that the mouz Team couldn't prove they are Top 5 material in 2011 and also probably not in 2012. Who cares about 2008 today? If we talk about a team from 2011/2012 ? Of course they are very good players and on that level of CS everything can happy. But that is not up for discussion. It's about results and a future perspective to be able to win stuff. I am sure the current Team can not compete with at least the Top 3 right now.
I don't know how you think business works in this industry. But teams eat up ressources and need to show that they are worth the support they get. If mouz decides to let the team go they have their reasons for it.

However, CS 1.6 is one of the most successful Computer Game all times. CS 1.6 has greatest community, many legend players, motivation, impression and organizers. I'll never quit CS. I'll play it with my friends, old school players and my fans until end of the world. This game is part of my life and this website. Honestly I spent more times on this site than Facebook by the way...
