Riot Games' live balance and champion design lead Morello has spoken about the current state of the game and revealed some of the changes coming next patch.Morello mentioned that an AD caster item is being added to the game very soon, possibly next patch.
Community members have repeatedly expressed interest in an AD caster item, which would allow for more champions to step into the limelight of competitive play.
The concensus seems to be that such an item should have spellvamp and pure attack damage with the possibility of armor penetration and/or cooldown reduction.
Champions like Talon and Pantheon would immensely benefit from such an item, increasing their power levels drastically once they get it.
It could also constitute a resurge of hybrid hypercarries on the fields of justice.
Morello also hinted that level two jungler ganks are going to be taken down a bit as they're way too good in some situations.
Furthermore, fighter sustain imbalances are taking a hit, because lanes which can't be traded against and hence encourage passive play make the game stale. This is obviously undesirable.
It sounds like Riot took a lot of notes at IEM Hanover, and is now getting ready for a rather large patch.
Will we observe a big change in the metagame, or will the new patch have little influence?
Only time will tell.

Without that change, Ryze, Galio, Karthus, Morgana, Mordekaiser and Kennen will be the ONLY played champions so far.
Adding MR to minions would nerf their lane sustain and farming ability so that those champions would actually have to put in a bit of effort in order to lasthit.
