SK adds Korean WC3 stars ReMinD & Lyn
We at SK Gaming are very happy to announce two very strong additions to our Warcraft III section, the South Korean super stars Kim 'ReMinD' Sung Sik and June 'Lyn' Park! Here is a brief introduction from Min-Sik 'reis' Ko, who will also join with the new players. ReMinD ReMinD the Nightelf, a very calm and religious guy. Winner of almost all of the Battle.net season finals (1, 2 and 4) and being very famous under his account on Kalimdor: Phoenix_ReMinD. He always proved that he is one of the best players out there, always taking big responsibility and someone that you can count on if you need him. He is not just a great solo player he is also one of the best arranged team players with SoJu. Their biggest success was the WC3L season XI when they managed to take the last point to win the champion title. Lyn Lyn the Orc, always being a big name in Korea, showed his skill in Europe at several InCups some years ago and used to call the cup Lyncup himself because of winning it pretty often. A very funny guy who managed to play the Orc race on the highest level possible. At the moment one of the best if not the best orc out there. Participating in several tournaments and always reaching the top 3. The SK WC3 team now consists of: Robert 'Enrique' Stolpe Tobias 'ownitsch' Jacob Min-Sik 'reis' Ko Mykhaylo 'HoT' Novopashyn Zdravko 'Insomnia' Georgiev June 'Lyn' Park Daniel 'Miou' Holthuis Kim 'ReMinD' Sung Sik Daniel 'XlorD' Spenst A big welcome from all of us at SK! Interview with Lyn:
First I am sorry that my interview came out with such a delay but I was quiet busy the past few days regarding Starswar, IEF and WCG Pro Quali *I was pretty successful kkk*
A warm welcome to you as well! SK has an Orc again and not just any, maybe the best in the world at the moment. Did Zacard tell you anything about SK already?
Hiho. I talked briefly with Zacard and he told me that he had a wonderufl stay in SK and that he just can recommend SK. I used to play just for asian based teams and thought it is time for a change and decided to join SK.
You are playing a great year so far with the NGL and WC3L titles already won and a good 4th place at ESWC, last weekend you went to the
W3 final and only Moon was able to beat you. NE imba? ;)
Moon is an outstanding player I faced him already 3 times and I never managed to beat him. I think it has nothing to do that NE is imba it is just that I am just not as good as Moon at the moment.
The Korean WC3 scene might have the toughest competition for any player out there. Do you think you have an advantage to always have the best possible competition even when you are just practising?
Yes indeed it makes a different to live in a country with so many good players and it is for sure a big advantage for me to have so many players to train with. I can train with them on GGC like on lan and so I have the best possible connection and so the training is really effective. I hope I can improve myself and can show some nice games.
Interview with Remind:
First of all welcome to SK-Gaming! How does it feel to join this team? What are your expectations?
Hi! I'm Remind, It's an honor for me to join such a great team. Im expecting to bring our SK team good results with my best effort and performance.
SK had a huge reputation for sending their players to Korea in the past. Names like Madfrog, Heman or Insomnia are legendary. Now it seems like SK is getting more Korean players into their roster. Does that make you proud, being linked to those players from back then?
Those players like MaDFroG, HeMaN and Insomnia were one of my favorite players when I was new to this game in ROC and I was always looking up them all before. So, it's an honor for me to be linked to those player from back.
Looking forward to the upcoming weekend, you are the defending champion in Anaheim at Blizzcon, winning the sword in Cologne, Germany. Who are your toughest oponents in this tournament?
Actually all of them were tough for me but If I have to say It goes ToD, Grubby, Lucifer because I won 2:1 against these players so hard.
Will the SK community be able to see special stuff from you? Will you blog on the website? Will there be special replay packs for fans?
Yes, I will try to do those things as much as I can and guess evey month there will be a replay pack of the whole wc3 squad.
Interview with Reis:
Welcome to SK-Gaming! Your history lead you from NiP over WE to SK-Gaming. Would you say you reached the top now?
I guess I reached the best esports organisation out there. SK was always a big name in the esports scene and always will be. Iam proud to be a part of this big and well organised Organisation. I had a lot of time to think about joining SK and had a lot of conversations with the CEO of SK aka TheSlash. In Berlin during the NGL one finals it was the first time when TheSlash contacted me and after wining ngl one we met each other the next day and talked about the wc3 squad. We had several conversations after that and last week we cleared things up and now iam here with my korean players.
You have been responsible for the teams and lineups of the last NGL and WC3L champions. What can the SK fans expect from the new lineup? Do you think winning the WC3L or NGL with this team is a logical step?
I am always trying to be successful and it wouldnt make sense to join a team if I dont believe in the success of this team. I guess with my Korean players Lyn and ReMinD I have some great additions to the current SK lineup and a good backup with the managment so that makes everything possible. I know it is hard to compare with the old lineup that I had in WE but I guess we will try the best we can and first of all the team has to know each other and believe in each other than everything goes without saying.
Living in Düsseldorf, you are quite close to SK and their office in Cologne (50km distance). Does that affect your day to day work?
I am really happy that the SK office is so close to my place that will make everything much easier. It is easier for me to meet the other SK guys from the office and to talk with them. When I told ReMinD and Lyn that the office is pretty close to my place they were glad to hear that because so there wont be any communication problems with the management and the team. I can talk with my CEO everytime I want and that means that there wont be much problems. Things can be solves immediatly and I dont have to wait till the other person comes on just one phone call or just a ride to collogne which takes like a bit more than 25 min and everything can be solved.
What challenged you the most to take the step with your players and sign up with SK?
I guess to make SK to one of the best wc3 team out there. SK used to be a big name in the wc3 scene but lately they struggled so it is just time for SK to step up and to show them what SK Warcraft is capable of. In my opinion we have potential we just have to work hard on it and with everybody doing his best we can reach everything. I believe in it.
