The NACL Announces Season One

ImageThe North American Challenger League announces its first season with a great line up of teams, and a $35,000 prize pool.

On October 1st there was an announcement for The North American Challenger League's first season! It begins on October 7th, 2013 and will go on for eight weeks. There will be ten teams competing. Nine teams have been invited so far, with the tenth spot reserved for the winning team of the qualifier tournament.

The qualifier tournament will be held at 6PM PT October 3rd - 6th, and will be available for any challenger 5s team. Teams can sign up here.

The teams will be separated into two conferences of 5. Each team will play against each other 4 times, and cross - conference twice. League play will start on October 7th, and end on December 5th. By the end of the season, all teams will play 26 games each, totaling 130 games altogether.

The matches will be streamed on TwitchTV and AzubuTV, Monday through Thursday 5PM to 9PM PST.

The NACL's commissioner Zachary Kay had this to say about the league;

"The North American Challenger League aims to raise the level of competition in the challenger scene, and through that, better competitive North American League of Legends as a whole."

The current prize pool is $35,000 and will be distributed throughout the placeholders.

1st - $10,250
2nd - $6,250
3rd/4th - $4,500
5th/6th - $2,750
7th-10th - $1,000
