SK Gaming are proud to present the addition of one of Europes finest PvP teams to the family.
As World of Warcraft has grown to one of the biggest esport games this year, SK will now be the home of 5 new players from the guild Warders on the Stormscale realm.
Warders was founded as a Diablo2 guild in 2000 and later on switched to Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) where they were the dominating guild on the notorious Prydwen realm. They have been playing World of Warcraft since the first release and their main focus has always been PvP.
The SK WoW team consists of: Stefan 'Zeksy' Baudin
Jonas 'Tarde' Jakobsson
Mattias 'Oteus' Franck
Michael 'Dosferra' Tofer
Thomas 'Lomas' LindmarkTheir first stop will be the Arena Tournament's European regional finals which takes place June 23-24 in Hamburg, Germany.
The leader and creative director of SK Gaming Andreas 'bds' Thorstensson had the following to say about the new addition:We are happy to welcome Warders to SK Gaming. Not only have they displayed a high amount of skill in World of Warcraft but also a very serious approach to competitive MMO gaming for a long time. The future looks very bright for these kinds of games, and we hope to grow together with this new team. Besides the competition, we will also build a strong community together.SK are more than happy to be a part of the World of Warcraft PvP community and hope to be able to develop it even more with the help of the new members, big welcome! On IRC you can find them in #sk.wow on the QuakeNet server.

hejjej, we lost alot of rating the first days we played with standard ui, yes, but not to GoD since they stopped playing. They haven't played more than 10 games/week since phase2 started. We have met them once during this time and we won.
We are not saying that we are the best ever in 5vs5 or whatever you think I am doing, just trying to get facts straight. From there you can assume whatever you want.
It's starting to go well for us without addons, thank you for asking. If you have played with addons for 2.5 years its kind of difficult to get used to default UI as everything is in different places. I assume that this is understandable.
Beating GoD now doesn’t say much compared to when they used to practise a lot, btw. They were the dominating team in BG3 5vs5 Arena, period. Lets just hope Kasumi wants to start playing again.
When GoD were active, we had fun games vs warders since both teams used to face each other a lot, and that was before the beginning of phase 2 since we stopped playing afterwards. ( that shit about Warders afking against the top teams etc during the pre phase 2 period isnt true and i can confirm it. And 1-2 days before end of phase 1 who wouldnt just try to secure his spot to the next phase and just monitor the other teams? )
Warders is and have always dominated the pvp on Stormscale. To all the jealous RandomRoleplayers and other thwats, fuck off you wer never any match for warders anyway. Stop the bullshit and go back and play tetris...
I want to clarify that me and other posts from other DAoC players never questioned Warders WOW squad quality, which I think its best one since start of Stormscale server where I played horde for 1.5 years.
We've never said that we are the best team ever. Off the top of my head I can recall maybe 4 non-hunter teams that have more then 50\% win ratio vs us (and that we have met more then 5 times). I won't give the names of those teams because then surely some team that has 51\% win-ratio vs us will appear here and flame us to no end.
Yes we have lost a lot of rating since after phase2 ended, first we lost maybe 100 while learning to play without addons (we were addon junkies before that), party frames and tooltip being the worst to cope w/o. And just when we started getting good at playing with standard-ui, several good hunter-teams came into being on our battlegroup, my guess is that we have lost about 150 rating to them in total (incase somebody doesn't understand all this hunter-talk, we play with a setup (specc) that is superweak vs them, but no teams in euro finals will be using hunters, so we kinda don't want to respecc just to keep a good rating on our bg).
And lastly about the game being luck based, I know more or less for a fact that no teams from our bg got from phase1 to phase2 because they got "lucky", but yeah sure I agree that they should make it a bit less random if possible, still I don't see this as a very major problem, and I doubt any of the other "top" teams do either.
mNs, I don't know who you are, and I don't wanna know. But I just want to make clear that RR had some really nice matches vs Warders. And I don't think that Warders has something else to say about that.
The thing about that Warders USED addons(like focus-bar) is something I dislike. The truth is that I think it's pretty much like cheating in WoW(It's a BIG advantage if you play mage). And I don't know why teams even wants to use it.
I like your post dosferra btw, speaking truth.
We wish warders best of luck in SK.
/Radict of random roleplayers
All sports have various degrees of how much "luck" plays in to the outcome of the game. This however does not mean that you cant compete in it.
WoW does have a lot more luck factor than say CS, Quake, SC, WC3.
Despite this, the same limited number of teams will be competing over and over in different championships.
Let me give you the best example of all.
Poker.
If you think getting a crit with 30\\\\% chance is lucky, then how do you define outdrawing your opponent with one out.
This does not stop the same players being at the final table in the WSOP year in and year out.
Leave luck out of this thread since it does not decide whether a game is competitive or not
