That stupid wc3l rule again ..

In this post, I will try to address some of the questions and accusations that the original post sparked.
#11: Sweet was leaving after the WC3L playoff. We announced this at the same time as EvenStar joined. Though Sweet had an agreement with us that he would play the WC3L playoff for SK. When he violated the WC3L rules, he also violated our agreement. This means, there is no reason for SK to keep Sweet in the team any longer - he plays all offline events under the WE tag already, and he can't play WC3L for us anymore.
Furthermore, the WC3L cares whether he wears an SK tag or not. This is why he is now barred from playing in the playoff. Calling us pricks shows quite a lot of ignorance. SK hires players that want to take gaming seriously and give them a chance to pursue the pro gaming dream. If players just want to be kids and play games, they should not sign a contract that gives them responsibility.
#13, #17, we ARE going to try and get a top position, but we realistically do not expect it. There is a big difference between the two.
#20, true fans don't just quit from a realistic statement. Just because we don't expect it won't mean we won't try.
#30, there are many reasons why we do not perform as well as many people expect us to. One of them is that there are many other, strong players and teams in the world. Another is that SK is going through a generation shift. Many of the old-timers are losing motivation, and SK had a lot of players from that particular gamer generation. It takes time to "break in" a new team.
#31, I honestly think that you do not know anything about the relationship between me and the players, nor how I manage the team. Merely by saying that you would deliberately try to get fired from a team indicates that you would probably be a very unprofessional player to have in a team. Also, like I said earlier, the fact that you don't expect something does not mean you won't try to achieve it.
#35, then you never really supported SK, but merely your favourite players.
#36, you are kind of in the same position as #31, you don't know anything about the relationship between me and the players.
#39, to your second point I'd say that Sweet's actions far from indicate that he cares about SK or what happened.
#42, I don't exactly understand what you think SK has done and why the management should be sacked. A player violated his contract and then an agreement. SK is not at fault.
#48, of course SK takes it seriously, but so should the players. SK does not offer contracts and salaries for fun. If they want to play for fun, they should not join a professional team.
My general opinion is that many people seem not to grasp what the real issue is here. Personally I think it is really sad and scary that players violate contracts, because it compromises the seriousness and professionality of Warcraft 3. There are plenty of opportunities to play Warcraft 3 for fun, but how many opportunities are there to get a contract that includes hardware, travels and a monthly salary?
So instead of criticising SK for trying to be professional, I think those who want to see a strong and serious pro gaming scene should criticise players who - through unprofessionality - undermine the work of serious teams. If players violate the trust of these teams, the end result may be that fewer and fewer will want to invest time and money in "kids who just want to play games."

not expecting a top position at the offline finals is pretty reasonable since the european war3 scene is too competitive at the moment. Any minor changes can make the hard work of a team go down the drain, and a line-up change is a big issue in my opinion...

On the one hand,without Sweet,SK would have never been qualified for the playoffs.On the other hand the same Sweet violated the rules and the agreement with SK so they took the right decision by kicking him out from the team.

Sk still has good enough line up to win WC3L season 7. I think Sweet was a great player for SK, played a key role in bringin SK to the Playoffs.
Maybe sweet was mad at SK for many incidents thats happened while playing for SK. I dont want to go in detail because it will start another useless arguement.

definitely not SK's fault, sucks that they get burned by one person's actions. players like Zacard, hot and deadman shouldnt have to suffer because of one of their colleague's mistakes/poor decisions. I agree that SK probably wont win this seasons wc3l, but i hope for it all the same. Maybe somebody in SK payroll should offer Madfrog enough cash to bring him back into actively playing for the team (or is he barred now for being inactive for so long? last i checked he was still an honorary member of the lineup but i could be mistaken). Evenstar would be great, but as Kida said, he's not allowed to play for the team this season. Any idea what kind of lineup we'll see now that a soloist and a 2's team are affected?

The problem is that the clan obviously was not in the position to establish a solid respectful relationship with the player. Obviously Sweet is to blame for violating the contracts. How ever, SK needs to ask themselves how they can create a stronger relationship between players and staff/organisation (or the SK identity). If you can only bind a player to your organization with money, then you are in a weak position.

on a side note, sweet caused some problems a few months ago, when an other player allegedly played for him. what ever happend to that issue? sweet was removed from sk only to rejoin a few weeks later.

Noone even says that Sweet did this intentionally, he might as well just not have considered Incup a price money tournament or have logged onto it with an account without thinking about which one it was or have forgotten about that WC3L rule. Either way, it is still his fault, and this eliminates the only purpose for which he was still member of the clan.

This sounds more like SK wanted to get rid of Sweet quick, they weren't going to pay for him to go to Cologne anyway, now they've been able to get rid quick and have an excuse for losing in Cologne, to what are massively superior teams in 4K and MYM. No shame in losing to either of those two really...

a clan like SK should always aim for the number 1 spot. no matter what game or what tournament....

#82: You are sooo wrong. All responsible persons in SK.wc3 very totally upset when this came out, we had planned with Sweet both in 1on1 and 2on2.

why did sweet wanna do this? isnt the final game for SK in cologne a better way to sign of a good carrier with SK? Is he under the pressure from WE management to put the WE tag under any circumstances? I'm guessing WE is giving sweet more money then SK. If not then theres no practical reason in giving up the SK tag. WHY SWEET WHY!!

As many others, I don't see any reason for SK to play down expectations either. Sure, Sweet/May would have been the most superb 2on2 team on LAN for SK, and Sweet one of the most solid soloists in the finals. Still, with HoT, Deadman, Zacard and May in solo, SK would be only little behind the favourites 4Kings and MYM, if even so. In 2on2 Deadman/HoT would be deadly, too, but SK seem to prefer Deadman/TaKe, if not Kookian/TaKe, but I'm a bit in doubt with Kookian and TaKe are both still in SK, as there have been people saying otherwise. Insomnia could also be of help if he is really back, same goes with Miou and DominatoR (at least for race diversity) if SK would focus on using all their available resources. Are SK bringing May for sure? I might have missed something . . .
Best of luck to SK regardless, I wouldn't want such a healthy organization to fail, and cannot help cheering for our tireless KidArctica . . .
