SK Launches World of Warcraft Division
Update: The WoW page is visible now. The information for the division is there, but the page is not done yet obviously. More content will be added as things come along. Update: There has been a slight change in the format of the WoW team. Read more below. After years of successfully participating in some of the most competitive games online gaming has to offer, SK Gaming felt it was time for something new, something a bit different. Today SK is proud to announce the opening of our World of Warcraft division. Since its U.S launch in late November, the game has broken records in number of copies sold in such a short period of time. Everbody and their sister is playing this game. With a great PvP (Player vs. Player) system, an honor system and Battlegrounds in the works, and best of all a huge community, it was only natural for SK Gaming to open up a division. First and foremost, all of the current fans of SK Gaming need to realize that we know World of Warcraft is a change from the other, already established, professional gaming teams such as our Counter-Strike, Painkiller and Warcraft III squads. This does not mean that WoW is not a competitive game, since it does hold many elements that makes it such. You can read more about our vision and goals at our new WoW division page.
North America: At present time we are looking for several experienced players from the U.S to fill up the ranks for SK's U.S World of Warcraft team. Leading this division will be SK|d1ngdong, so any and all inquiries about the U.S division should be sent to him.
Europe: Now that we know the European version will be released on the 11th, SK will be opening a European WoW squad as well, in addition to the American one. There is no nationality restriction, however, on whom can join each team (Europeans can join the American team if they want to play on the U.S servers, same goes for the other way around). Leading the European division will be SK|Fend0r. Anyone interested in the European division should get in contact with him.
This means that the SK World of Warcraft division will be known no longer as strictly an American team, but simply as the SK WoW team as a whole.

Nobody gives a shit about Spain (unless when Madrid gets bombed).
And no ut squad? lol!
unfortunately the page for the WoW division is down, it has all the info you need to know including what SK's goal and vision is in doing something like this.
This post will be updated when it is working.
I think this is a great decision. First of all, everyone keeps criticizing SK for being money-hungry. Now, the people that say this is a bad move argue it's stupid since SK is not going to make any money because there aren't any major wow competitions...
I think it's nice to open a WoW division, since initially a team is a group of people that enjoy playing a game together. If SK can have a WoW division with players that enjoy playing the game without going to competitions, what's the problem? Of course there is some competitiveness in WoW, but I'm just adressing the critics here.
I read that some guys were comparing this move to the closure of the UT section. I say these are two completely different things, since I assume the two squads will not be run the same way at all. This is only a guess though, but I think that in terms of salaries, transport to events etc it will a lot different.
What is more, if SK can get known on WoW, many players who weren't previously aware of the existence of the clan could start frequenting sk-gaming.com. We're talking about a huge community here, and the recently opened forums are here to welcome them to the website. If this increases the number of daily visits the sponsors will be happy since more people will see the banners. You have to admit that this isn't a bad strategy, especially if the 'costs' of the wow section aren't too high.
Now maybe if the project doesn't go well it will be cancelled, I have no idea, but I think it is a bit stupid to jump on the bandwagon "I criticize what SK does because it's SK".
There should be more people like Nagh in this world. Thank you for those words, you got it perfect.
#190 you obviously didn't understand my point :)

btw, wow is a great game. ok. this game takes a lot of time (normal, it's a mmorpg), ok.
SK has an objective "we have to win, so we have to be the best."
it means that you'll spend more time than a normal "geeking" wow player ?
toilets as chair, etc..
hi@life.
GL & HF ^^
GL with the new squad.
In case anybody didn't play WoW yet, www.guildvsguild.com]click here[/url] to see some ingame clips.
Also, [url=www.thottbot.com is a excellent site for getting more knowledge about WoW.
EDIT: When you visit the first link, press "downloads" on the top, then "World of Warcraft".
From there you can choose a whloe lotta movies.
I strongly reccomend the clip "Nurfed's overpowered warrior video".
It shows the strength of a welltrained warrior from the earlier beta ^_^
WoW...
Stupid ... :\
just read the news: it's about the community -> more hits on sk-gaming.com...
don't whine around that WoW isn't a eSport game like cs and co. are. a WoW squad won't cost any money... but it can help making SK even more famous. so why should this be a bad decision? :)
stop whining geeks - this is your chance! now even unknown cs, pk, wc3 etc players like you can be SK :>
Wanna have an answer now!
WHERE IS THE NEW SK.SWE WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ANNOUNCED IN THE END OF JANUARY?
this are the reasons why they need more hits. because there fans become tired of waiting and leave..
for sale ^^
lan = challenge
where's the mistake?
and since kingpug cant seem to read ill paste a bit straight from the wow info page:
"It is important to know that we realize that World of Warcraft is not a true eSport game, when compared to our other squads such as Painkiller and Counter-Strike..."
Anyway i'll be interested to see how this'll turn out and work.
HALO 2 SQUAD , DoD QUAKE 3 .... NO ???????
i wanna have fun with friends, i doesnt wanna see ppl on server who will tell me: "hi n00b, im l33t wanna be own3d in du3l with me ?" or "what is ur cl4n ? and position on ESL ladder ?" :(
it`s not the way :(
Do you realise how stupid that sentence sounded?
