ImageThis weekend, antoher series of Reflex GT took place in Weesp, Netherlands. This news is going to be a short recap about the tournament and the event itself.

The team around captain UK Andrew 'Ramirez' Corrigan felt quite confident for the event. The bracket was the easiest it could be for the SK Halo guys. Having had the first seed due to former Reflex GT attendances and placements of the players, the first round was a BYE win, as there only have been 15 teams at the event.
Whilst all the other teams had the chance to get their first matches, SK needed to wait for quite a long time. Their opponents were ‘Dices have fallen’, which is a pickup team of some former n!faculty players. Having started with CtF Zealot, it looked quite good for Alex 'Fragby' Lee-Warner and Co. Although they had to give away the first flag to their opponents, they came back to a clear 5-1.

Getting warmed up, Team Slayer on Countdown was no problem for the team. They really gave their opponents not the slightest chance to get into the match. 50:28 after only a couple of minutes.

Last but not least, EU managed to finish off ‘Dices have fallen’ on King of the Hill Nexus in a 250:98 series and therewith a 3-0 scores.

Match two was already the winners-bracket semi-final against either eNigma (4) or Uprising (5). In the end, it was eNigma to proceed to the semi-final as well, having demolished UP! with 3-0.
Having had a double-elimination bracket, the wb semis were already to entrance to an at least top 3 placement. Both teams looked really strong in their previous matches, thus it was expected to be an exciting match.

But Andy led his mates to a straightforward win over the French team, only struggling the Team Slayer. One could really see the ease on their faces. They were really pumped after that and therewith ready to compete against apex who in the meanwhile won their semis match over Western Wolves 3-1.

But their hopes of maybe winning over Europe’s number 1 team were destroyed quite soon. Scott ‘Fuzion’ Findlay nearly won this match on his own, going +19 on CtF Pit, which is absolutely amazing. The SK guys were close the start a comeback at KotH Oasis but it didn’t work. apeX rolled a 3-0 series over them.

This meant that the team had to play once more for the entrance to the grand final. It was none other than Western Wolves (3) who fought their way through to the consolation final, just as expected.
And the match SK vs. wW could have been the final as well. Both teams were quite on the same level and it became a hell of a match, very intense, very exciting and very tensed. Nobody wanted to lose this.
The beginning was quite good for the SK team. Capture the Flag was brought home. But afterwards, it was again Team Slayer that didn’t work out for the team.
1-1 in scores. The team to win the next map was so close to the grand final. In an insane King of the Hill Nexus gametype, both teams gave all they had. SK managed to comeback and win the map closely.
It was only a small step left to reach the top 2. Everything looked so promising at CtF Pit then. In a short time, the SK Halo guys could capture four flags, whereas wW only had one.

And then an amazing comeback followed. wW forced their opponents into their own spawn and managed to not let them get control again. 2 flags in favor of the Wolves resulted out of that until SK finally got out of the spawn. Having had three guys down, there was the chance to bring the last flag home, but it didn’t happen. Instead, it was wW who got the map control back and stuck SK at their own flag. It was unbelievable for the spectators, but the Wolves turned the map and gained the win.
So it was all left to Team Slayer on Oasis. Being on fire, Western Wolves saw their chance to make it to the grand final. And that’s what they did. The series ended up 3-2 in favor of the Wolves.

Although being pumped by the win over SK Gaming, Western Wolves didn’t have a chance against apeX who run over them in antoher 3-0 series.
