Earlier today a statement was made by the Evil Geniuses organisation that they would no longer be supporting a CS 1.6 division. In light of this, they have dropped out of the IEM 6 GC Kiev. Replacing them will be Ukrainian giants Natus Vincere , who were next in line should a team drop out due to defeating Anexis eSports in the seventh place decider (16-5, inferno).

Unfortunately for the Ukrainians, they will once again face SK Gaming in Group A, the team which crushed their chances of qualifying directly after defeating them 16-7 in the loser bracket of the Stage 3 online qualifier.



IEM 6 Global Challenge Kiev will take place on January 19-22 at the CyberSports ARENA in Ukraine, and features a $40,000 prize pool. As well as this, the teams which take gold and silver will automatically qualify for the IEM World Championships in March.
