The community of the Halo Reach EU Forum voted for Europe's Team of The Year 2011. And SK player Andrew 'Ramirez' Corrigan was elected in it."So after a week of posting for your nominated players, it is time to reveal who the community thought deserved to be on our European Line-ups. The European Team of The Year, consists of players who are considered to be the best Europe has to offer in terms of Halo ability, and have had successful seasons. The Team for 2012, is reserved for players who you think will make the biggest impact on the 2012 season and improve on their previous placements. Without further delay, here are the results!
European Team of the Year 2011
Scott 'Fuzion' Findlay
Max 'Riotz' Cottle
Andrew 'Ramirez' Corrigan
Jack 'Baxter' Baxter
Congratulations to those who made it on to this brilliant team. Riotz accumulated the most votes by a single point over his teammate Fuzion. Both of these players are known for their slaying ability and brilliant use of the power weapons. This dynamic duo, have also teamed with Ramirez, who complements the pair fantastically, with his creative map movement and objective focused playstyle. This trio teamed together for most of the 2011 season and won: ECL Loughborough, Reflex GT5, i43 and most recently EGL London, making them one of the most successful European teams to date. As well as achieving four impressive tournament wins, the old Dignitas line-up also managed a brilliant 13th place Finish at MLG Providence, after being knocked out of the competition by Warriors, who eventually achieved Second place. Also making the line-up is Baxter, who is regarded to be one of the most competitive players on the scene and is determined to achieve more tournament wins in the future. At the beginning of Halo: Reach Baxter was part of the Fnatic line-up who achieved wins at Reflex GT2 and ECL Blackpool, however since then, he hasn't had an event win. Nevertheless, Baxter is still regarded as a European Halo powerhouse.
Ramirez about how his Year has been:
Quote:
"It has been a good year! It's seen me find my feet as a player and opened up so many more opportunities, it saw me win my first event and be part of the most dominant European team in Halo : Reach so far. I hope to continue my success into 2012 and I’m grateful to those who voted for me, your trust is well placed!"
Fuzion's thoughts on the 2011 season:
Quote:
"I couldn't have asked for a better year out of gaming, and had such an awesome time teaming with Dignitas throughout 2011. Unfortunately things didn't really work out for me before Blackpool and I had a small break from gaming before joining back up with Riotz. It's been awesome to visit places such as Amsterdam and even get a trip over to MLG Providence and I'm expecting bigger and better things out of my new team in 2012!"
Team for 2012
Jake 'Chalkie' White
Mathew 'Pistol' Peat
Jack 'BlackJack' Lewis
Jaspal 'Keen Edge' Sandhu
Watch out for these players in the New Year! Chalkie was the clear winner in this line-up, easily getting the most votes. Known in the community to have a massive amount of skill and knowledge but not totally committed to putting the time in to practice. Is this the Year that he does? Alongside Chalike we have two members of the current Infused.Tt squad in Pistol and BlackJack. Both players are fairly new to the Halo scene but they have already proved themselves as brilliant players. Pistol plays an extremely smart game and always seems to be in a fantastic position. BlackJack plays with flair and is considered to be one of the best snipers in Europe. They have already finished runners-up twice this year, and with Baxter's guidance combined with their potential, they might be able to do one placement better in 2012. And last but by no means least, Keen Edge completes the line-up in this talented team. Perhaps an unexpected player considering he has not yet placed inside the top 8, Keen Edge scrapes in with his aggressive playstyle and all round ability. His work ethic and drive to become a great player are hard to beat... all he needs now are LAN placements.
Thank you very much for voting and lets make the 2012 season even better!"
