Cyrus 'proZaC' Malekani is one of the latest to take part in the reddit IAmA (I Am A) trend as he answered questions about his career as a professional gamer. The Swede gives his thoughts on the gradual death of 1v1 FPS titles, his enjoyment of LoL and the best/worst parts of being a progamer.

proZaC first emerged onto the top tier of the professional Quake 3 scene as a TDM (Team DeathMatch) star for Quad Arena All-Stars (All*), a team who already housed legendary Swedish players such as LakermaN, DOOMer and Blue. Later in his TDM career proZaC became arguably the best individual European player, winning EuroCup V with p1mps and LAN Arena 7 with QPO. He also racked up numerous top 3 EuroCup placings across his career.
The fiery Swede also made a name for himself with his personality and his dueling career. As a teenager he flew to Babbage's CPL in 2000 and upset favourites
czm and Makaveli on the way to a 9th-12th placing. In 2003 he turned up last minute as an alternate at the first ESWC tournament, replacing WCG champion 
uNkind, and shocked the world with a ztn win over ZeRo4. At the very same ESWC he also performed Britney Spears' 'Hit me baby one more time' on stage to an adoring crowd.
Since returning in QuakeLive his career has been considerably less impressive in terms of results, being as he has been a part-time player, but continued to court controversy. At QuakeCon 2010 he was ejected from the venue after apparently getting naked.

"I think it's a sad thing... It's feels like watching a good old friend die slowly in-front of your eyes...
It also takes away something from gaming generally, there is something magical about FPS games where you can move fast and gracefully while aiming like a god. It allows expression of supreme gaming potential, whereas the warfare type games rely on different mechanics more... "

"I assume you mean in western society (since in Korea it has grown to be more popular than many other sports...). In western society, no ... I don't see gaming becoming a giant like soccer, baseball, hockey, american fotball or tennis... It will always be their young, cute, disabled BUT FUN little brother... I hope future proves me wrong though."
His career/life after progaming:
"It's quite funny, I'm a game developer. I studied programming and game design / production at my University. And I recently got this job in Canada (moved here 2 weeks ago) as a Swedish Linguistic tester... Quality Assurance.
I basically get paid to play games all day... It's kinda sweet, not my final ambition though.
A big part of the elite from back in the D have gone pro poker players... I remember LakermaN's only wish in life was to earn money without working a 'regular job'... and he did achieve it. He began with quake and ended up in poker.."
