First Battle of Amsterdam announced
The European Game Series “EGS” announced the very first in a series of events: the Battle of Amsterdam.

The European Game Series “EGS” announced the very first in a series of events: the Battle of Amsterdam.32 teams will go head to head in a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 4v4 tourney in the heart of Amsterdam. Combining professional gaming with the bustle of the city, the two day tournament will host the matches during the day, and will be the stage of a party in the city’s centre at night February 11th and 12th 2012.
The Battle of Amsterdam will be a monthly recurring event, varying in both platform and game. Xbox360, PS3 and PC will all take their place, and the currently approved games include Starcraft II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Fifa 2012.
Battle of Amsterdam announces venue
A venue has finally been picked to host the Battle of Amsterdam events. L.A.N.X. (lanx.nl), an old club, now housing a fraternity for the Free University of Amsterdam, in the heart of the city’s central district.
At a walking distance from the booming nightlife and Amsterdam Central station (with a direct connection from airport Schiphol), it’s easy to reach by any means of transportation, while still being close to everything you could possibly ask of the capital city of the Netherlands.
The location will also have free pizza available for teams and cheap alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Prize Money
EGS has announced another sponsor has popped up for Battle of Amsterdam. The media company DuVoor media is adding € 1.000,- to the prize-pot of the Modern Warfare 3 tournament 11-12 February in the Netherlands. The total guaranteed base prize-money is now set to a total amount of; € 2.500,- euro’s, when 32 teams attend this amount will be set to € 4.100,-

The tickets will also grant you Free Pizza and discounted drinks inside the venue throughout the event. In the Netherlands you are allowed a beer from the age of 16, so we do allow within limits against a prize of: €1,50 p.beer.
Can't wait to see you all as we are planning plenty of LAN for 2012 for SC2, FIFA, Tribes (maybe even) and other possible games, where we see potential interest.
