WCG: SK crushes DTS in leisurely fashion

ImageSK found their quarter-final matchup against DTS anything but worrying in principle, smashing the Ukrainians in two maps and with only 6 rounds lost.

SE SK Gaming stomped a lackadaisical-looking UA DTS in two straight maps to move into the semi-finals of WCG 2011. SK will now face RU Moscow Five in the semi-final, seeing them renew their acquaintance vs. one of the teams who always seem to give them problems.

WCG 2011 quarter-final:
SE SK Gaming 2:0 UA DTS
-16:4 dust2 (CT 12:3 T 4:1)
-16:2 inferno (CT 14:1 T 2:1)

The Swedes could have been apprehensive going into their quarter-final matchup, since the map selection system and pool meant DTS would definitely get two of the maps they enjoy playing. Even moreso when it turned out DTS would get the two maps, throws taken into account, that they had the best chance of winning vs. SK as the first two maps of the series: dust2 and inferno.

In the end all such concerns meant nothing as broke the will of the Ukrainian team in the first half of the first map, dominating them in one of the most lop-sided matchups seen in a long time. In the first 35 rounds of the series DTS had a legitimate chance at winning perhaps seven of those rounds, that is the level to which SK pushed the game.

DTS looked very off in terms of their individual skills and it proved to be a huge factor in the game, meaning the aimers of SK were too much at every moment for the Ukrainian underdogs. This was highlighted most effectively in the inferno round in B where DTS overtook the B site and had a 3v1, only for GeT_RiGhT to pull off a huge full clip three man spray with headshots on all of them.

WCG 2011 semi-final:
Saturday 08:00 CET SE SK Gaming vs. RU Moscow Five
