In an interview with UpCloseGamers NaNiwa says he chose to leave and that coL treated CatZ hitting 5k streaming viewers as equivalent to him placing 2nd at MLG Providence.Following the recent story published by ESFI about
Johan 'NaNiwa' Lucchesi's move from compLexity to Quantic the Swedish Protoss player has spoken to UpCloseGamers in a video interview about his side of the matter.
NaNiwa claims he was not kicked out of coL, but instead chose to leave and himself had contacted Quantic prior to coL dealing with them. He also states that coL is more interested in exposure than results, and thus they disagreed on financial issues relative to status within the organisation.
Those comments all run counter to coL's statements in the ESFI piece, where they stated that they were the ones who had chosen to remove NaNiwa, and that Quantic had been the first organisation who they had spoken to about trading his contract.
NaNiwa explained his perspective in the interview:
NaNiwa also discussed his thoughts about the upcoming Blizzard Cup.

NaNiwa explained his perspective in the interview:
"compLexity seems to have a lot more focus on just exposure in general, they prioritize streaming, blogging and so on above results. So they did not want to reward me, basically. It's the same for them if CatZ hits 5,000 viewers on his stream and I place 2nd at MLG [Providence]. I did not agree with that point of view."
NaNiwa also discussed his thoughts about the upcoming Blizzard Cup.
