WCG: SK survives TyLoo scare in three
TyLoo shocked SK early in their first round WCG playoff matchup by winning inferno but the Swedish side regained their composure and handled the next two maps to move on. SK will face DTS next.
SK Gaming were initially surprised by
TyLoo in their first round playoff matchup, but came back to win the series in three maps. The Swedish team moves on to a quarter-final matchup with
DTS scheduled for 5am CET on Saturday. TyLoo turned what seemed destined to be a quick execution into the beginnings of an upset, but found themselves let down by their T side execution.
TyLoo came out of the gate swinging and put pressure on SK with a big nine round Terrorist performance on inferno. Switching over the Chinese team sealed the map in the first eight rounds of play to move to nuke and give SK a reason to feel nervous.
Luckily for SK the second map was right up their alley as nuke has always been a strong map for the players that compose this lineup. Despite losing the first three rounds a monsterous run saw f0rest and company switch up 10 rounds. With a flawless CT shutout the series was tied and TyLoo were left needing an upset on the classic upset map: dust2.
SK dominated early play on CT side but faded part way through, as TyLoo stacked up round after round and went to the weaker side down only one round. SK again did work on in the second half, with a big time 8:2 enough to close out the map and series.
