The keys will be given away by the end of the week, this Sunday at midnight so be quick if you want one.

For those who're not familiar with Dota 2, it's part of a genre called MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena). Its predecessor Dota was created as a Custom Game Map of Warcraft III on Battle.net and was the first in a genre growing in popularity. Dota is played 5vs5 and the objective is to destroy the opponents' base by pushing lanes where creeps spawn on regular times.

After Dota, a lot of companies tried to copy its success with games such as League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth and Bloodline Champions with the first probably being the most successful.

Icefrog, the man behind the later versions of Dota, was hired by Valve to start working on a new version of the original. The game will be released in 2012 so there's still plenty of time to enjoy the Beta and help the people at Valve make the game even better. Dota 2 will work through Steam so make sure you've got your Steam accounts ready in case you win.
