ImageLess than a week from now we will see the end of the MLG Season with the Providence Finals. We'll take one last look at the Halo Pool Play, as we prepare to see who will be crowned kings of the hill.

With $100,000 on the line, Providence is shaping up to be the best collection of Pro Halo players this year to date. From discussion of a unbeatable, the rise of a true underdog, and the return of a well known name to the Championship Bracket; 2011 has been a non-stop whirlwind of excitement. Pool play for Providence will be none different.

Pool A

In Pool A, we will once again see the only team to win 2 events this year, as the number 1 seed over all, US eon Instinct . The team that came together after MLG Dallas, they looked and were unstoppable at the MLG stops in Columbus and Anaheim, only losing one game in that whole time. In the next two events, Raleigh and Orlando, they struggled heavily taking a 2nd place and and 5th respectfully. A few good games could rekindle the flame that burned so brightly earlier this year. Joining them in Pool A (7) US Triggers Down , (8) US compLexity Final Boss and (16) US Pure Gaming .

Pool B

ImageOnce again Pool B is headlined by (2) US Status Quo . After a promising event win at the first event of the season, Status Quo has been on a bit of a skid. Over the past 4 events the team has been the center of controversy. With Assault and Enabled looking to team with what would become the two newest members of (5) Believe the Hype, there was questions as to how they would perform at Orlando. Reaching Top 4 by beating number 1 seeded EON Instinct, those concerns where put to rest. The teams that will be joining them are (7) US apeX-eSports Revolution, (10) US Classic and (15) US Severance .

Pool C

ImagePool C is once again lead by MLG Raleigh winners (3) US THO Infamous. After a second place win in Orlando, it can only expected that they look to pull together another top placing in Providence. As the newest comprised team in the Top 4, most believed that the win at Raleigh was a fluke and didn't expect to see them playing late into Sunday at Orlando. The proved the none believers wrong and left with second place. There is little doubt that we could see them playing in the finals for a 3rd event in a row. Rounding out Pool C we have (6) US Believe the Hype , (11) US Turning Point , and (14) US Carbon .

Pool D

Last events winners (4) US Dynasty headline Pool D. After a trade of players with Believe the Hype before Orlando, there where questions on weather or not the team had time to blend together. They soon put those questions to rest with beating the winners of previous event. They will not have a easy road to the finals, as in Pool D we also have (5) US Warriors , (12) US Active Rush and (13) US Str8 Rippin . Str8 Rippin are rejoining the Top 16 with the exit of US LiNK Gaming Victorious Secret.

Any of the above teams, or one of the 4 team from the open bracket, have a chance of walking out on Sunday night with the title of MLG 2011 Halo Champs and $100,000 richer.
