The last chance qualifier for IEM 6 Kiev took place yesterday, seeing 32 teams battle it out for a direct spot into stage one of the tournament. WinFakt Fi and viva Algeria came head to head in the final, after WinFakt having an easy time throughout, without coming close to losing a single match, in contrast to Viva Algeria who nearly crumbled a number of times.

Viva Algeria managed to cause an upset in the tournament by beating Russian team Virtus.Pro , this unexpected turn in the tournament gave Viva Algeria their spot in the final. However, WinFakt proved too much for the Algerian team. The final was played on de_nuke, which saw WinFakt in their stride, destroying Viva Algeria 10-5 first half. Second half saw the same play from WinFakt which Viva Algeria struggled to cope with, they didn’t have a chance and only managed to pick up a mere 3 more rounds, ending the score line 16-8 in favour of WinFakt.



WinFakt will now go straight into stage one of the IEM 6 qualifying stage happening on Sunday, joining other teams such as TBH.eSports and Antwerp Aces . Overall there will be three qualifying stages until the main tournament, which will see five teams compete in Kiev, Ukraine.
