Xizt: "we could have... won [ESWC]"

ImageIn an interview with the fnatic website Xizt says fnatic could have beaten everyone at ESWC 2011 and won the event. He also calls a statement by SK GeT_RiGhT "pretty stupid and cocky".

SE Richard 'Xizt' Landström of SE fnatic has been interviewed on the fnatic homepage. During the course of the interview he explains that he thinks fnatic, who failed to progress from Group D of ESWC 2011 after a loss to ALTERNATE, could have beaten everyone at the event and won the title. He also gave his thoughts on a comment by SE SK's SE GeT_RiGhT.

Regarding SE fnatic's loss to DE ALTERNATE:

"We played stupid and they played well...we have always been a slow starting team in Fnatic and it was BO1, but I can't blame it on that. We simply just have to be more consistent in our game, I feel like we could have beaten all the teams at the event and won the whole event, but at the same time we have to work on being more consistent and not losing in groupstages like this."

On the DE mouz game which saw fnatic eliminated due to mouz getting too many rounds:

"We were really pumped going in to the mouz game for sure. We were feeling confident and knew we could beat them without any bigger problems."

SE Xizt's thoughts on SE GeT_RiGhT apparently saying he was confident SE SK would win the remaining events of 2011:

"I think it's a pretty stupid and cocky statement, but they are doing really well now and things are going great for them. I guess time will tell what team wins in the future."

Xizt joined fnatic as part of their new lineup at the beginning of 2011, following the departure of f0rest, GeT_RiGhT and Gux. Despite shocking the world by winning the first event of the year, the IEM V European Championship Finals, the team has thusfar had perhaps its worst year, in terms of results, since 2005.

Since that first event fnatic has placed 5th-6th at the IEM V World Championship, 5th-8th at Xperia PLAY, 2nd at IOL FINAL4, 5th-6th Dreamhack Summer, 2nd at Adepto BH Open, 4th at GameGune, 7th-8th at e-Stars Seoul, 1st at IEM VI Guangzhou and 9th-12th at ESWC.

Prior to fnatic Xizt was known as one of the best players for H2k/Lions, placing 2nd at Dreamhack Summer 2010, 4th at Arbalet Cup Dallas, 1st at ASUS Summer, 3rd at Beat IT, 3rd at DSRack #3, 2nd at EPS Nordic III and 3rd at Dreamhack Winter 2010.
