Take a look of all the things that has happened in the past few weeks in Starcraft 2 eSports.The month of October has been an incredible time for Starcraft 2, and the sheer scale of how much this incredible game has grown and still is growing exponentially really makes one think. Here are just some tidbits of news that occurred during these past few weeks before the end of October!
SaSe joins Quantic Gaming:
Kim 'SaSe' Hammar is a famous player in the Starcraft 2 scene, and gained much notoriety for living in Korea for quite a while to participate in the Global Starcraft 2 League, he would unfortunately not find much success in the GSL but would gain respect for continuing to improve steadily. Back in the beginning of October it was announced SaSe would join US based organization Quantic Gaming, who was bolstering their Starcraft 2 lineup with some very strong players. With Quantic SaSe gained support to go to MLG Orlando and would do extremely well and finish 10th overall.

DongRaeGu Wins IEM New York:
Soo Ho 'DongRaeGu' Park is known all around the world as being an extremely fearsome Zerg player, but he is also a prominent figure in the Starcraft 2 community, and has been known to be a joker and overall funny man. In the recent IEM New York, DRG would go on to win the tournament with relative ease till the finals. It should be noted however, that he lost to a relative unknown Protoss player by the name of Benjamin 'Gatored' Brewer from the United States and is part of eSports team Its Gosu, during the group stage of the tournament. However, this would not stop him from winning IEM New York, and would face past GSL 1 winner
Won Ki 'FruitDealer' Kim in the finals, DRG would go on 3-2.

Stephano crowned ESWC Champion:
Ilyes 'Stephano' Satouri has been in the news lately, and has just added to his list of achievements victory at ESWC. He would taking home a nice check of $26,000 and continue the trend where non-Koreans are winning tournaments where Koreans are participating in. Some interesting facts: MarineKing lost 2-0 to Stephano in the championship bracket, MouZ.MaNa would also beat Protoss President MC in the bracket as well.

As if Quantic Gaming wasn't in the news enough, they announced near mid October that they had signed notorious Zerg player
Stephen 'Destiny' Bonnell, who was a fan favorite and notable community figure. Promising that he would attempt to practice much harder and play Starcraft 2 much more seriously, Destiny has decided to focus intensely on Starcraft 2 with help from Quantic Gaming.
DreamHack Upgrades Spectator's Venue:
Nowadays everyone who's even slightly involved in eSports knows what DreamHack is, having establishing themselves as not only a premier LAN event but also as a prestigious tournament for various games such as Starcraft 2 and Counter Strike. It was announced several weeks ago that they had formerly made an agreement with Kinnarps Arena to upgrade their viewing capability for spectators at DreamHack Winter 2011. This will allow over 4,500+ people to come in and view the many games in comfort but also in style. It is currently not known if this will be a continual thing for all DreamHacks or exclusively only DreamHack Winter 2011.
DongRaeGu Wins IEM New York:
Starcraft 2 in Korean Pro League?:
It was revealed in on Korean eSports news site Osen that KeSPA the reigning eSports organization in South Korea was heavily considering adding Starcraft 2 into the 2011-2012 Pro League season. This could potentially put Starcraft 2 on the map in South Korea, as Pro League is one of the most prestigious tournaments for Starcraft in all of Korea. When a KeSPA employee was asked if SC2 would see the light of day in Pro League he simply said this, "It is true that we are considering it, but nothing has been confirmed. We will try to meet the expectations of e-Sports fans through continued negotiations with Blizzard."
HuK wins MLG Orlando:

Chris 'HuK' Loranger was crowned champion at MLG Orlando, defeating a very energized
Min Chul 'MC' Jang in the grand finals. With a thrilling P v P set between the two Protoss masters, HuK would gain the advantage with superior micro, and become the first non-Korean to claim victory at MLG since the start of the MLG-GSL partnership earlier in the year.
Partnerships All Around!:
Quantic Gaming has slowly been gaining notoriety in the Starcraft 2 scene, and it almost became a household name in Starcraft 2 when it announced its partnership with premier Korean SC2 team Incredible Miracle, who fields some of the best individual talent in Starcraft 2. This would be an incredible indication of Eastern and Western partnership in eSports and was a very encouraging sight. However, on the exact same day team Evil Geniuses announced its partnership with the Emperor's team SlayerS, quite possibly creating the most powerful partnership in terms of financial backing and skill. With many Eastern teams and Western teams partnering up, it seems to be creating a hopeful light on eSports based around Starcraft 2, as it's truly becoming a global eSport.
MMA Wins GSL October!:
The son of Boxer
Seong Won 'MMA' Mun, was chasing his very first GSL title in Code S, however, he had a very formidable foe;
Jong-Hyun 'Mvp' Jung, who had some of the best T v T in the world at the time. MMA was heavily considered the underdog going into the finals, however, as if in some sort of miracle, MMA would go on to demolish MVP 4-1 in some incredibly thrilling games that gave new meaning to T v T. GSL October would also be the first GSL to have the largest live audience, with an estimated 28,000 spectators in the crowd during the finals. After the award ceremony many prominent community figures, such as the Casting Archon Tasteless and Artosis, John the Translator, and the Korean casters gave speeches, about Starcraft 2's growth as an eSport.
MVP Wins Blizzcon 2011:
While MVP unfortunately lost GSL October, the next day he still had Blizzcon 2011 to compete in, and while he started extremely well he would be sent down to the lower bracket by his teammate and champion of the Swarm
Jae-Duck 'NesTea' Lim. However, he would fight through the lower bracket to reach the grand final against NesTea. In the final he would go on to win 4 games to become champion of Blizzcon 2011, taking home $50,000 and bragging rights as Blizzcon champion till next year.
