MVP and NesTea off to MLG Providence

ImageThe two champions of the Terran and Zerg race will be traveling to Providence for a piece of the $50,000 first place prize.

In an exclusive interview of Quantic Gaming and Incredible Miracle done by Rod 'Slasher' Breslau several interesting details were revealed to the gaming community.

With Major League Gaming having six events over the course of the year Providence is set to be their grand final event properly titled the 2011 MLG Pro Circuit Championship Providence. With this being the biggest prize pool of the year among all the MLGs many talented players both Korean and not are flying over to have a piece of the $120,000 prize pool.

The first place winner will take home not only $50,000 in cold hard cash, but he will also be king of MLG for a short while till the next pro circuit in 2012 a title that anyone would gladly receive.

However, it seems that for any player who will compete at MLG Providence the challenge of even acquiring a small piece of that prize pool will be extremely troublesome as two of the greatest players to ever grace Starcraft 2 will be coming to Providence to take it all; of course I mean KR Jae-Duck 'NesTea' Lim and KR Jong-Hyun 'Mvp' Jung.

MVP will be coming fresh off a win from Blizzcon 2011 where while the maps were horrible arguably had some incredible games between some of the best players all around the world. Also in the grand final he defeated NesTea to take the win, despite being down 2-0 due to a previous bo3 in the upper bracket. This obviously created some in-house rivalry between the two teammates, and will be one of the much more interesting story lines for MLG Providence.

NesTea on the other hand has always found success in the Global Starcraft 2 league where he's won three GSL Championships, but so has MVP. Unfortunately, for NesTea MVP might be his one weakness, in most of the times they've met up against each other in the GSL MVP has always gained the upper hand with the games between the two Korean powerhouses always being extremely close, but MVP has always won out in each of their encounters. The only time NesTea has ever defeated MVP in a bo3 was possibly in Blizzcon 2011, however in the grand final MVP came back to win 4 games to seal the first place prize.

However, despite these two monsters participating in MLG Providence, there will be over 272 players participating in the tournament, and in essence each of these players are extremely talented and surely many upsets will occur between the many Koreans and also the many talented non-Koreans.

MLG Providence will occur between the weekend of November 18 through November 20, and will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
