HLTV.org EIC Nix0n has been named MVP of IEM 6 New York. He played for mTw in their 3 Group A games.Following the public voting session ESL has named
Marc 'Nix0n' Winther Kristensen of HLTV.org the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the IEM VI Global Challenge New York. He received a monitor and a processor along with an MVP hoodie.
Nix0n, an esports journalist, is the Editor-in-Chief of popular CS coverage site HLTV.org and stood-in for
mTw during group play, helping them make it through the playoffs after a second place finish behind
UMX.us.
Expectations were low for the Dane, being as he is not a professional player, but he impressed by getting kills and winning some rounds thanks to his plays. Even
Zonic said he initially expected Nix0n to simply be there to drop weapons for the other players.

Nix0n is the second Counter-Strike player to be honoured as MVP in Season VI of the Intel Extreme Masters, along with
roman of
mouz. Neither player won their respective events. Voting took place prior to the finals of both being played.

I don't believe any of the pro players find it disrespectful, it was a public vote anyway and ppl at HLTV are many and they love him, the guy worked hard and he's happy to get it.
TLDR Thorin: Stop being an asshole ;)
1. Nix0n is not a good player enough to be the MVP of the CS Tournament, I really mean a tournament.
2. He's been working really hard and giving a lot effort to the community, obviously he is loved by many guys.
So my point is:
the MVP of the tournament is chosen by voted by any one is suck. If you call some one MVP, it's must based on statistic, performance etc.. so the title should be changed to the most loved player, or the most voted player, or something
PEACE
@ drL: when the f*ck will you go back to Vietnam ?? =DDD
Everyone voted on him because he wasn't a professional, and he still managed to do some sort of good job for mtw. This is just a way of saying "thank you", cause in the end he was doing mtw a favor and didn't get anything in return for it, now he has, so can't we just be happy for him? :p
that's why I say they should use the term "most favorite player" than " MVP ".
U know u are the man! :D
If the organisers decided to put him in the public poll they should have been aware of all the fans that would have undoubtedly voted for him, and having it public pretty much takes away all traditional meaning for the vote and turns it into a popularity contest, so theres no suprise Nix0n won it.
The only thing i DONT like about the whole sitation though was that the poll was done BEFORE the grand final had taken place (and i think semis or 3rd/4th play-off too). I think that was definitely a mistake.
You definitely cant argue he WASNT valuable though - so it comes down to opinion as to who was MORE valuable out of all the players. Nix0n filled in for mTw at the last minute playing far above anyones expectations and helping them get out of groups. You could also even argue he added much entertainment value to the tournament, and even though its probably not in the original spirit or intent of the poll its not really wrong either.
Either way, I essentially agree with Thorin and see where he's coming from, but I also have to say who really gives a fuck. Nix0n deserves something and this was a great way of the community showing their appreciation towards him. It was also incredibly fun watching him and seeing mTw do well with him, so i dont see too much wrong with him winning the vote. Value isnt a measurable number, it all comes down to opinion, and the public obviously thought Nix0n deserved it.
